Not sure if this relevant, but I think you can special order the Ambient Air option, which will give you 4 zone HVAC, *I THINK*.

It's been reported in the X5 and X7 forums Night Vision and Rear Seat Entertainment have been dropped as well and Bowers and Wilkins Sound only on M50i and up trims.

I'm sure they were low take but I'm sure they were charging enough to make it work. Hopefully as supply chains return the features will to, otherwise I might I have to keep my lease, love the Night Vision and the Mediterranean Blue.

didn't know F10 would have auto rear side sun shade.

I have auto rear sun shade (again part of executive?) but not auto rear "side" sun shade (just manual), thought the side one is useful because got 3 years old (she fell into asleep and I can just press a button)

I'm quite surprised at the shift to be honest. It makes sense they are lower takes, but it would have made more sense to add Night Vision to the Executive Package to replace the headlight upgrade they dropped. Unless Executive is really cheap it is going to seem like an odd buy now and probably also end up low take.

I skipped Night Vision and B&W because they weren't worth the money for me. I'm a fan of good audio, but I don't spend enough time in the car to spend that much on audio just for the car. But I went both ways on Night Vision. I could see it tipping me over the edge in a package. Especially since I added the Executive Package mainly for the upgraded headlights.

Soft close doors as a low take item is a strange one too, because they didn't eliminate the Executive Package entirely and it comes only in the package in MY2020.

I suspect, as other said, it is either supplier related or cost cutting ahead if a brutal year ahead for cars.

I just peaked back at the press release for MY2021 and compared that to MY2020 ordering guide.

For MY2021 The Executive Package only adds:

* Ceramic Controls
* Power Rear Sunshade (still manual side shades).

Unless they drop the price a LOT I can't see that being a package many would pick up. MY2020 the Executive Package was $1600 more than the Convenience Package, but since it included the lighting package it was really only about $600 more. The power rear sunshade is cool, but I def wouldn't opt for it + Ceramic controls for $1600 (skipped Ceramic on my car as is ).

I'm not aware of the laser lights being standard or an option. My car will be outfitted with the adaptive LED lights, which is a standard item according to the build sheet.
Here you can see the Laser lights vs what I assume are the standard adaptive led. I screenshot both of these when building an M550i online. (This is on the German configurator since the USA one hasn't launched yet) Just wondering if the M550i in the USA will come standard with the upgraded Laser lights (that feature a different DRL, similar to the icon adaptive led that used to be standard on the M550i and optional on lower trims in the US).

Maybe this will get clearer once the ordering guide is posted. But, as of right now BMWNA press release says no 5 series trim in the US gets laser lights.

Laser lights were also an upgrade on the pre-LCI 5 in other markets so them continuing to skip the US isn’t unheard of. Perhaps they may offer it in MY2022 or later when they feel market conditions improve?

Hmm, yeah that makes sense. That sucks though cause I'm planning on ordering a MY2021 M550i and was hoping for laser lights here in the US. Can't wait for the US configurator to launch though so I can see all the details.

You're correct - it doesn't have the side rear powered shades. I mis-read/understood your post.

I usually leave my side shades up all the time, more for privacy than anything else.

Based on my orders for the MY 2020 and MY 2021, the change to the MSRP for the Executive package is only a $50 increase. Obviously it depends on the actual price you pay, but with the deletion of the soft close doors from the package, they are obviously making more there as well.

They've also built in some additional profit with the deletion of the Luxury Seating Package. As a package in the 2020 car, it was $1,200. In the MY 2021 as two separate elements (front ventilated and front massaging) the price is up $300 (based off my build sheet).

I am a fan of the night vision system and sorry to see it dropped. I live in an area where there is a lot of wildlife, and for trips through the woods at dusk/night, I thought it was a good additional safety feature, particularly since the system was always on after dark in its latest iteration.

As far as upgrading to the B&W stereo, 16 speakers and 600 watts from the B&O standard system is more than enough for a car with an interior volume that's less than 40 sq ft.

Thanks. I've been keeping an eye out for the individual sticky for each series and hadn't noticed that post yet.

Interesting - they kept the soft close door option for the M5, but not for the other trim lines in the 5.

The also got rid of some of the nice leather options. LCI not much of an improvement or has gone backwards in some areas. Strange...

On the build sheet posted here, it shows the luxury seating package at $1000. I don’t see it as two separate elements.

When I compared to my 2020 order I was going to place to my 2021 build based on the price sheet, the 2021 appears cheaper. Is anyone else seeing that too?

I'm looking at page 111 of the pricing guide for MY2021.

Option 453 - $500
Option 4T7 - $1,000

The 2020 Pricing Guide shows both options as part of the luxury seating package for $1,200.

Base price went up only $150 from 2020 to 2021 from what I can see.

It does seem that they've cut back a bit. I'm wondering if the Covid 19 situation and the massive loss of revenue over that quarter is causing them to trim costs where they can.

RE: my other post, I'm also guessing that the $30,000 increase in price to get you to an M5 over a M550i covers the cost of the equipment and installation of the soft close doors, etc.

Does anyone know if the LCI will feature the touchscreen for the climate controls in the USA? I know other markets had it as an option on the pre-lci 5 series and the pre-lci M5 had it as part of the executive package in the USA.

The best I can offer you is a close up clip from the high-res photo of the LCI 540i's climate control that was in BMW's press release to compare with your photo. It certainly looks the same (assuming your photo is pre-LCI).

I am sorry to hear that. I also live in an area with lots of wildlife, making Night Vision a "must have" for me. I excluded the E class from consideration after learning Night Vision was not available. Hopefully BMW eventually brings this option back for the 5 series.

Otherwise looks like a fantastic build--looking forward to updates!

Well, we're getting closer to my production week (Week 27). I should be seeing the car move to "Production Begins" status next week or the week after.

I have one on order status "Scheduled for Production" haven't received production week date yet. I was under the impression production on MY21 was 7/1.
