1M bumper with OEM undertray

Since the 1M bumper doesn't match up with my OEM undertray should I just drill holes and install clips in the 1M bumper where OEM undertray matches up with 1M? My 1M bumper and M3 hood are on the way and want everything in order before it gets here.

Guess I could just drill new holes in undertray so it lines up with 1M and use metal clips.

I think you'll find it won't quite be that easy. You'll need an adapter to fit between the undertray and the bumper. The bumper is quite a bit lower than the undertray. I'll have to find the pic in Realoem of what I used but it is kinda half-moon shaped.

That is what I was wondering, I had the bumper but had to send it back and it seemed like the undertray didn't reach.

I ended up using item #4 in the pic the link below goes to. I already had it from when I switched to msport bumper. It bolts to the bellypan then you'll have to drill matching holes through the bottom of the bumper.

thank you! I could also use partf of my OEM bumper I am not using.

No problem. I ended up having to add several screws due to how low my car is and scraping the front over speed bumps. It kept knocking it loose with just the three screws holding it.

how low where you? I don't have the lip yet....how much lower will the bumper sit vs my OEM bumper?

I'd have to measure again but I think I'm around 25-1/4" or so from the ground to the top of the front wheel well opening.
I would say the bumper is about an inch lower than the stock bumper. Maybe a little less. I definetly dicided against a lip! I'd have to raise the car back up some to "hopefully" keep from destroying it. Also, none of the lips for it are anywhere close to cheap!

Got everything installed, bumper is slightly more than 5" from ground at lowest point. May raise it slightly lol!

You're the motivation behind it, I took off crash bumper to make it fit my oil cooler mounts behind it pushing the crash bumper out causing fitment issues. I mounted horns under headlight housing. Have to raise it 1/4" to clear my driveway lol! I am 25 1/4" from ground to fender.

Could you give me a width and length measurement for the side vents/fangs on the edges of the bumpers?

I may be getting this bumper and doing something custom

Question, did you use the vents that came with your 1M bumper? I saw no way to fit them.
