How much should it cost to have lowering springs installed?
I have quote requests out to several area shops to have my MSS springs installed on my 540i. The first one to contact me back has quoted north of $1500 in labor, not including alignment. This seems very high to me. How much should I be expecting to pay to have this done?
He said the "book" on this job is 10 hrs. For 10 hrs, pretty sure I can do that in my garage. |

I've read people paying as little as $600 to have springs installed. The shop I use charges $175 an hour. They told me it is truly an 8 to 10 hour job. They said that everything has to be removed and that's why it takes so long. Oddly enough he said that the rears are actually more difficult than the front. |

You could be 100% correct. The shop I've been using, I feel like the more times I go to them the higher amounts they charge me!

As a DIYer, doing it on my driveway on axle stands i could probably do it in about 5-6 hours, i've fitted H&R and then MSS so have done it twice. you might come across seized bolts or that and it would slow you down for sure. a garage charging 10 hours is over charging you for sure
