Hobbs & Shaw 7/10. Pretty much exactly what you expect, so if not a fan of the brainless F&F type films, then one to avoid. But if you are, then this spin off is enjoyable and I will happily watch more in the future. I enjoyed the banter between the leads (though there were a couple times it was a bit overlong) though I think my favorite banter was between Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne.

Watched Dolemite is my Name on Netflix this past Friday. Enjoyed it (think the wife did, too) as I did the original movies. The latter may gate ones thoughts on this one, though. As the movie went on, I was already calling out inspirations for some of the characters in Dolemite. Didn't expect to see so many actors I'd recognize, too!

Nobody will go see this because it doesn't have any T&A or super heroes in it, but it's a story that must be told. It's about a good man who had his life absolutely ruined by the Federal government and a complicit media. I'm going to see it and support the movie, and I hope many of you do as well.

RIP Mr. Jewell.

Cold Pursuit 7/10

Not your typical Liam Neeson movie with a fair bit of dark humour

Getting ready for Midway, watching master and commander. For me, the most moving part was the 14-year-old one armed boy jumping into battle to save his ship.

Probably giving you a taste of Flamborough Head and the battle that made John Paul Jones.

The Jackal.

Saw this on BBC3 so gave it a go and was quite entertained. I don't know if it's the age of the movie but I found one or two of the disguises Willis wore to be quite amusing.

Watched Dolemite is my name yesterday. I enjoyed it. I have always been a fan of the cheesiness of the black exploitation films. The movie wasn't what I was expecting but was a great watch. Eddie did a great job.

Saw these yesterday but didn't start any of them, what did you think of any of them. Any particular one better than the others?

Check out the 60’s original with Edward Fox. Loosely based on facts of the day with attempts made on Charles De Gualle. Very good classic.

America Son on Netflix. Very, very good. Well acted, and decidedly engaging for a movie that essentially takes place in one room.

Noooo waayyyyy....that was a lousy movie. Felt like it should have been straight to DVD movie. Not as terrible as Genisys but it was bad.

I agree! The last 20-ish minutes of that movie are profound. The scene with DeNiro will be one of the classic Joker scenes. I still think Ledger's Joker was more memorable and frenetic, and Nicholson was fantastic in his day, but Phoenix did a great job in his own right. I went in expecting to hate the movie.

I will say that the age disparity between Joker/Bruce Wayne in Joker is a bit problematic. To have a Joker easily in his mid/late 30's while Bruce Wayne is about 8 years old just doesn't make sense. That would easily put The Joker in his 50's by the time Batman appears in Gotham.

Watched The King on Netflix yesterday, absolutely loved it.

Loved it so much I watched again last night with my wife.

Young mate was outstanding in the lead role, Henry V.

WAT??? Guess we will have to agree to disagree on this! Because the crowd's reaction was definitely in line with my reactions. It received applause at the end.
It filled in nicely with T2 and I can definitely tell the legendary James Cameron had his hands on this one. There is no way of mistaking this for a DTV movie. The budget was very obvious! I watched it in XD (cinemarks IMAX) and honestly I can't wait to watch it in my HT setup again...
