I'm confident that the G30 is going to look very similar to that. We had the same thing with the 7er. It wasn't 100% but maybe 95% but people were in denial because they didn't agree with the design and was hoping the "final" product would be different.

BMW please don't put the hockey stick on the side like the new 7er.

I think the rear looks crossed between X6 and M4. Interesting.

I have to agree (and I admit perhaps biased) but the bangle e90 still looks very up to date from the front at least.

Current 5/6 series to be the last 'good looking' BMWs then.

Don't get me wrong, really like the M3 and M2, but wouldn't say they were good looking cars by any means.

I guess we all have to wait for the car in flesh never the less this time around I believe this is a small version of the 7 series

A big turn off with specially with the way the dashboard looks, nothing sporty about it.
I just hope BM will prove me wrong just like they did with the E60 and the F10.

But judging by also how every version grow in size, maybe is time to move to a Grand coupe 4 series!

I hope that the premium interiors of the new C-class and A4/A5 prompt BMW to raise the bar with the next 3/4-series. I will then be happy to "downgrade" and so will many others who find an even bigger 5-series unwieldy.

not really surprised.
5 series (non-M models) has been pretty boring since E60...and has been getting worse and worse, exactly what we expected.

E60 looked like an ugly sushi knife, F10 looks like a piece of brick
This new one looks like they took a chassis of current 7 series, took a current F30 series body + stretched to fit the larger 7 series chassis = new 5 series.
it's a good executive loaner, nicely equipped lease car

Thanks! I think I did join the upper character line to the Hofmeister kink in the profile view of the car ;-)

Cheers!

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that AutoBild always releases renderings.

With that being said, these renders look pretty accurate based on spy shots. It'll certainly be an evolutionary design but the F10 is a handsome car so the G30 will be nice looking as well.

What I'm most concerned about is the driving experience because the F10, while still sporty for its class, did not drive like a real BMW. The powertrain is still something BMW gets right but the suspension tuning, steering, etc. were tuned for isolation/numbness. It was a surreal and disappointing experience to drive a BMW which felt so Lexus-like. Unfortunately it appears that BMW will continue this course in the G30.

I prefer photo from the first post, but there it looks more like semi SUV, so I don't know what to think and which one is closer to reality
In the first photo it is taller, in the second one it is wider, first one looks much more muscular and powerful.
