G30 steering wheel swap

Hello,

Anyone done a steering wheel swap yet on the G-series? Thinking of retrofitting m-sport wheel with paddles and heating since i don't have them and was wondering does the car need any additional wiring between body modules or is it just plug & play with coding?

Hello

It can be done as my G31 M Sport came with the standard steering wheel by mistake. (There was quite a few others on this forum also had the wrong wheel)

The dealer replaced it with the correct M Sport steering wheel.

I don't know what parts are required but I don't think the had to change any wiring. It may need coding but I don't think so, providing the function buttons are the same.

Just to be specific, was the standard wheel without any options and m-sport had heating & paddles? I know swapping base wheel to m sport is easy if they both have the same options, but as i have m sport wheel without additional options, the question is are there everything needed inside the steering wheel itself to retrofit heating and paddles just with swapping the wheel and coding. For example in F-series retrofitting paddles needed only steering wheel swap and coding, but heating required extra parts because the button was on the steering wheel column and not in the wheel itself as the current generation.

The replacement was like for like with the same options.

I looked back at my records and found the list my dealer emailed me, showing what they had to replace.

Not sure if it is true or not...……..but it is very expensive if it is the case!
