It's holding up great .
I'm really happy with the look and wouldn't go back to wood trim .

I’m soooo tempted to try this when I take delivery of mine in 10 weeks! Looks great

One question Drtjxtz what trim did you place the wrap on? I have the rhombicle trim and a little concerned it won’t be smooth enough
Yes , if it is textured you might have a problem .
I would order a small sheet just to try it out .

I even have some wrap sitting around somewhere I think but I have absolutely no skills on how to do this myself. Any good youtube videos out there that show a step by step DIY instructions?

Thanks

Wow! That is amazing! Drtjxtz Can you take a picture of the cup holder compartment lid opened? Specifically the edges? Just trying to get an idea how to do that area. Thanks!

The carbon material and wrap job is superb. Looks really good.

Just IMO, it doesn't really go well with the brown leather, where as possibly a gloss black CF or a silver dry CF wrap may have matched better. But again, that's just my opinion.

It does look amazing! I'd try it but my car is a lease and I've already done quite a few mods I'll have to remove. but I love CF!!!!!!! but it looks like a touch job to do. I assume you need to remove the pieces to do it properly. or...I'd buy the CF and pay someone to wrap the pieces professionally.

Oh man that looks deliciously good for an amateur job and without removing any of the panels! Little belated but great work!

I agree I'm not sure I personally love the CF over brown but that's to each his own so no judgement there. It's all love here @ Bimmer.

There's an Amazon link a few lines up.

I gotta say this looks really good. Looks OEM.

How tricky was the job without removing the trim? We're you worried about scoring the original trim when trimming the vinyl pieces?

I just ordered this wrap from the Amazon link above and will give it a try. I have piano black trim and am thinking of leaving the shift area in black and doing everything else in carbon fiber

Still don’t understand why there is no M performance CF trims. I have them installed on my X6 and they look simply stunning! The above foil is done very neatly, however still don’t know he did apply it?? According to 3M you need to apply a bond layer and I would be careful to apply this on the piano black trim.

I am getting my new 5 series delivered with piano black trim, but nothing can beat the CF looks, plus its scratch resistance. After 4 years in my X6 its like new.....

Hi Drtjxtz , looks very very nice. Can you please inform me how you managed to do this without removing the trims? Can you please kindly outline the process if possible?

I know this is a very old post, but has anyone else wrapped their trim without removing it? I have wrapped interior trim before but the g30's trim looks impossible to wrap without removing it.
