M550i Exhaust - the BMW should have built it

Just had the AC Schnitzer cat back exhaust with black sport tips installed on my M550i. OMG what a difference. Sounds absolutely amazing and looks great. Why couldn't BMW at least have an option for this at order time....

Would love to see a video of this exhaust; Only video out there is of the axle-back version posted by ACS (which still sounds amazing...really deep and throaty).

Thank you for all your help yesterday BTW...got in contact with ACS distribution in Irvine...got this exhaust on order, cant wait to install! I'll throw up some pics when I get it on. Also was happy to finally see a picture with a quad pipe exhaust with the carbon fiber rear diffuser; was worried about fitment until I saw your pic.

Cheers!

No problem, glad I could help.
I'll try to make a recording of this sucker, sounds so good!

Stopped by the dealership this morning as my SA wanted to hear what it sounds like. He said it's better than the M5s but that doesn't surprise me. Would be interesting to compare it against the M5's competition exhaust option or the titanium one....

Can't say the quality is great but it does give you an idea on how deep and throaty the exhaust is now...

Excellent video Canuck99! Getting excited for mine to arrive! Always hard to tell from videos but it sounds deeper and throatier than the m5 (f10) comp exhaust!

For the cat-back system + Black Sport tips (exactly what Canuck has and what I just bought), $2895 + shipping (which was $135 shipped to UT). They also have a cheaper axle back version and for both you can get tips in SS, CF and Black.

You guys beat me out.
I have been trying to convince my customer to go with ACS, but no one willing to pull the trigger without seeing or hearing it.
Even with discounts, lol.

Do you guys have the ACS axle back muffler for the 540? If so, how much?

What are you asking for it? I might be able to get my brother to purchase it from you if the hook him up

Are the optional mid-pipes/x-pipe worth the extra $500? How much better is the sound with them? Is there any drone with either the axle-back alone or the full setup with the extra mid-pipes?

It is less than $500 if you buy a complete set.
Then it will make it worth than chopping off your perfectly good pipes.
A good mandrel bend work will ended up costing you about the same or even more.
