Atlanta Roads

Gotta love Atlanta's Highways. I was driving my M550 into Atlanta with the Family. I've got 20" rims, and I was unable to avoid a nasty lil pothole on 85S. The results are on the passenger tires, with the rear taking the most rashing. And since, at speeds over 50mph, you feel it thumping a bit. It's not crazy thumpin, but it's noticeable, and enough to be annoying; considering how smooth it was just the day before.
I took it to a local Mr Tire Center, figuring I'd get the wheels balanced. I don't believe it's out of alignment, as the steering is fine. Afterwards, I don't see any improvement. Nor, did I see any actual notes about the balance of any of the tires on the receipt. So that's a waste of $30 and 2 hrs. Been a while since I've worn my Home Mechanic's hat, so I'm interested in some more seasoned folks thoughts. Dunno if this needs to be BMW specific, but then again, I'll give replies on Bimmerpost more trust than I would on Reddit.

That’s some pretty good rash over nearly a foot in length and still have an intact tire. Did they check for bubbling on any of the sidewalls?

TBH I doubt it. Def. not a shop I'll be going back too.

I don't think so. I did reach out to a local shop that repairs rims, and they feel it's an easy fix. Hopefully after that I can get the balance back, and the smooth ride.

I have the staggered 20in wheels on my 2021 540i M Sport and they go out of round if I run over a pebble. Very soft.

You most likely have a bent rim. Most wheel shops will be about to slap it on a machine and tell. Your wheel shop probably skipped that step to check and just followed the balance step.
