LHD / RHD Door Mirrors
I've fitted a 'new' pair of door mirrors (with built-in cameras) but it seems they were originally fitted to a left hand drive car as the mirrors can't be adjusted to get the correct view from the right hand driver's seat. Even at the end of its adjustment, the driver's mirror can't be positioned far enough 'out' and shows too much of the side of the car and not enough of the road. The passenger mirror is the reverse - too much road and not enough car side. Is there an adjustment that can be made or a part that can be changed to set up the LHD mirrors for RHD?

Doesn't the outside mirror have more of a wide angle view? There's some indication that there's eight potential variants .. as per here:
https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=51_5426 There's no mention of LHD / RHD .. although the items 3,4,5 & 6 are grayed out. Not sure, but you may want to check that with a dealer parts specialist perhaps. |

The angle that the mirror is mounted to the car is different for RHD vs LHD vehicles. If you use a part database that allows you to select for "steering" (left or right hand drive)...you'll see that the 11 digit part nbrs for item #1 is different...and that is due to the way that the mirror housing is designed & angled to reflect the position of the driver either on the left or right side of the vehicle: You can verify that RHD & LHD exterior mirrors have different 11 digit part nbrs using the links below for the same mirror w/only difference being RHD or LHD:

Oh nice - do you have details please? I'd love to see guides or how-to's.
I am guessing new harness (unless existing harness is already wired) and of course, programming in idrive? |
