Same here, would be simple to do I expect as long as there is a dedicated intake area and not just randomly pulling in air from around the cabin. wonder if anyone already tried it or looked into it.

So this discussion reminded me of an old thread on seat comfort. Some owners had found the ventilation (luxury seating package) to be a less comfortable seat than the less costly upgrade to multi-contour without adding the ventilation and massage. Some felt like they were "sitting on a metal pipe" others said "contour seats with the massaging and cooling are less comfy as they have mechanical vs gas/air bags in them like in regular contour" https://g30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1477241

Thoughts on this?

Just start car and hit cooling button you don't have to have seatbelt on. If it's set to automatically go on above a certain temp correct they won't turn on until you do seatbelt, but you can still turn them on by pressing button. I do it when cooling my car prior to leaving house daily

I may have found an issue. Had dealer working on my ECU today, and I mentioned the hot seats. On my work order they said rear climate control was set to 80 degrees possibly sending hot air into the intakes of the seat. I dont know, but maybe worth being sure rear temp isnt on hot?

Something like this might work. https://www.amazon.com/Noggle-Condit...469739176&th=1

Any news on the matter? From what I saw on my seats, they feel much cooler if I start them on level 2, rather than level 3, which is weird. I drove this weekend an F07 and my back was freezing on those seats.

Yeah they said I had the rear ac set to 80 and seats could have been sucking up hot air.
I made the changes and it's the same. All the fans just draw surrounding air. I've been putting the ac on foot mode and can tell a slight difference. I just leave them off if I have windows open

Most of us don't have to worry about that. On the F10 rear controls came with the Luxury Seating package. It does not on the G30. It's impossible to find a G30 with it. I'm not even sure how to get it on a G30 as it does not show as an option on the configurator.

I took note my F10 M5 had heated rear seats and this car did not.

Yea why did BMW not offer 4 zone climate in G30 outside M5 in the US baffles me...

The air is more sucked in then blown out. A guy on YouTube has a video using Saran wrap. Not cooled seats but it deff cools them off. I notice it more when getting in and out all day. If you just do one drive it's not as noticeable. If you run errands try it after the car is cooled down but heats up again.

Ya when I saw in a 19 m550, I didn't find they did much at all. I made a whole post about it last month. Also the stuff they need to put in the seat made it feel less comfortable than the non-ventilated 'comfort' seats IMO.

Here in Canada the ventilated seats come with the 'premium package', a $6000 option. IMO not worth it.

My car has multi-contour seats with massage function, they are also heated and ventilated.

While, as we all know by now, they are not to be mistaken for some "cooling" seats, these ventilated seats work as advertised and they do prevent your back and bottom from sweating. No sticking to the seat at all. I had a loaner 540 without ventilated seats, big difference.

I do not have 4 zone AC, dual is enough as long as the car is cold, seat ventilation will work just fine.

Not sure what myth is out there bout massage\ventilated seats potentially being uncomfortable due to mechanism in the seats. That certainly doesn't apply to my seats. They are the most comfortable seats I have ever had. To imply these seats perhaps have some hard surfaces or some parts borderline protruding making the seats uncomfortable is simply NOT TRUE. Whoever is experiencing such discomfort needs to see a dealer (alternatively a chiropractor) cause you have faulty seats.

IMO...of course

Strange I have not experienced sweat in my standard SensaTec 16-way sport seats. And this is coming from a person that gets rather sweaty in this hot and humid climate of ours...
