So California won't let you change your own oil or use a plastic straw but yet they are ok with syringe needles littering the streets and sidewalks. Yeah umm that makes perfect sense.

Oil change bad. Plastic straws bad. Heroine needles, well those just add to the decorum. Oh and there is also the issue with poop all over the streets of San Fran but it is dinner time here so I don't want to fuck up anyone's appetite. Stay classy.

This absurd law has actually been on the CA books for almost three years. Its just now the Interwebs have discovered it.

SEMA(or the like) should be all over these types of laws. Btw... oil changes and brake jobs are still allowed.

Your OWN car, I have no problem.

I'm that nosey neighbor who has opened multiple code enforcement issues with the neighbor across the street who brings work home from his shop, leaves the cars in the street, and has worked out a deal with a couple of tow companies to drop the cars in the street so he can work on them.

Garage List
2014 335i  [4.87]
Imagine you want to rebuild a car with your kid and some fucking asshole comes up and tells you you're breaking the law. I bet you'd have some ass looking to inspect your home because you put a storage lift in your garage. This is why you need high fences and shrubs.

California is really beautiful, such a shame jerkoffs are completely ruining it.

Maybe because this kind of stuff seems to happen often in CA (and this particular example is in your capital city/county).

I think I will go into my garage and grab an uncommon tool (not my son, who is also an uncommon tool) and wrench a bit on an old BMW which I will then leave inoperable for a day or two. While it is inoperable I will take a gun over to the range and pop off a few rounds, then grab a brewski and enjoy my freedoms a bit. Maybe eat a big steak and hold the avocado toast!
Really? When did California make a law against fixing your own car that isn't in other states as well? I would love to hear about it, I don't think that is true at all. You just have some crazy image in your head and saying something that matches your image

You don't know anything about cars if you don't know this place is car capitol of America lol. There's a lot of crazy stuff California does but this place loves cars and everything about cars. You make no sense lol
Did you say he doesn't make any sense?

That is some funny ass shit right there

It really isn't like what everyone is worried about. If ya wanna rebuild a car in your garage, go ahead. Its the projects that sit in the driveway for months or years that can fuckup the neighborhood and believe me, it happens.

1) This was in Sacramento county, not the entire state of CA
2) Other states and counties have similar laws.

Way to use a misleading title to try and push your agenda.

What is his agenda? Sacramento is in California last I checked and you can be sure other cities will follow.

Obvious what his agenda is, to try and complain about something in California to make it sound like it's the worst state ever.

When you and your cult say you love the US, is it just certain states or is it the entire country?

Areas of California are complete shit holes. Rich liberals live in fantasy land while the streets of LA and San Fran get packed with homeless junkies. When someone in your family has a drug or alcohol problem it is probably a good thing to point that out. Just like it is good to point out that a state is turning to shit due to sheer stupidity

That's what you would like to believe but of course, you may be wrong. There are areas where one might find homeless junkies and needles but you are from New Jersey and that's calling the kettle black. New Jersey is not exactly the Garden of Eden and we have much better looking junkies here than the scags in Jersey. Just my opinion-although I've been to both parts of the country and can live where I choose. We make better wine than you guys and our sports teams are so much better it probably gives you an inferior complex. Just sayin'

I live in Sacramento. I don't care. Still gonna do it. No one really cares if they drive by and see you wrenching on your car in your garage. People are more worried about hating on law enforcement, propping up more sanctuary cities and making sure no one has guns so nbd.

Edit: Oh, wait...we're already a sanctuary State. lol

Its just a matter of people acting in a reasonable and ethical manner and there are enough people out there that are not so gov't intervention is needed.
There are separate laws to deal with illegal disposal of oil, paints, solvents etc and places to dispose of them properly.
Additional laws to remove people’s rights to behave in an “ethical” manner, is presumptious and overbearing.

These types of legal outreach and intervention is the basis of socialist governments believing that only government is true and just and people need to be controlled like cattle.

Democrats love to take over you life and justify it with catch phrases of “safety” and “environmental concerns”.

It’s a joke.

Here's a video of an attorney analyzing the different aspects of this law. He's also a car guy too which you may or may not feel is creating a bias in his analysis.
