Or lack there of. Today I realized that I won't be taking the kids out in my car since the trunk can't even fit a stroller...anyone else have this issue?

I got an umbrella stroller separately just for this purpose, though my bugaboo does fit (it's the lighter ones though)

Well I knew those side humps were going to be a problem especially when making a switch from the trunk space of an Escape but this make me very weary. Can you even fit a large and medium suitcase in there at the same time?

I just switched my kid over to the middle stage seat that’s good until you need just booster only. How does that fit in the backseat?

Have you tried folding down one of the back seats?

Also, hard to tell from the pics, but do you have the spare tire kit? That uses a lot of room, but can be removed easily if you need more space (you can use a temp. fixit/inflation kit instead, or roadisde assistance if you have it)

that's not your average stroller design, should have thought about storage issues when you bought one.

Our 2nd child is still pretty young so we can't use an umbrella stroller quite yet. We have another stroller made by Diono and that one doesn't fit either :

Have not tried suitcases yet but by the looks of it only 1-2 carry on's.

There's a hump underneath the rear deck that blocks it from sliding back also. I have a booster seat on the rear passenger side and I would've have to put the infant car seat on the rear driver side so folding the seat down was not an option.

The BMW isn't our normal going out with the kids car but figured we try and take
It out today. We also have a SUV which is what we normally use.But anyhow most newer age stroller are larger in design anyways. I guess BMW doesn't take into account for Americans liking to use "bigger" than average size things still. I know cupholders were an issue back in the day where they still can't fit a "super sized" drink or a Starbucks Trenta

our solution as well! Fits strollers, car seat, luggage, groceries, and in-laws - all at the same time

My wife hasn't even been in my M550, only our older daugher so far...

I could've swore my F10 5 Series had way more trunk space and height than this one.

The stroller is great. If the car seat/stroller combo wasnt so GD expensive, I would buy another one different set to fit in the car.

It appears to be a 530e so the trunk space is smaller than the non-hybrid G30s because of the battery. There is another thread discussing the smaller trunk space of the 530e.

That must be a big stroller. The 530e trunk space is on the tight side but I am able to get a large wheeled hockey bag in the trunk without folding the seats. No such luck with two sets of golf clubs however!

Does your car have a spare tire? This option takes away from trunk volume by raising the floor.

Or you have a 530e which has a similarly reduced trunk volume.

You do lose about 4 cubic feet of space on the 530e vs the non-hybrid versions.

The trunk in this car is 18.7 (530 liters) making it one of the largest in the class but it is narrow. After all this is a sedan. If they sold the G31 estate/wagon you would not have to deal with the trunk space limitations imposed by the sedan.

Definitely not that case I come from a long line a Toyota’s in the family and the trunk space in those sedans could rival a 7 series with the rear seats down. I know my old 05 corolla could fit the broad side of a barn. I understand this isn’t an SUV but still. I did bother to read further down and saw someone noted this is the 530e which then does make complete sense for the much smaller trunk space.

Pull the handle off?

Just a thought... does the telescopic handle not allow you to pull out (separate) ? Then it would fit...

That said, my golf clubs fitted OK in the F10, less so in the G30... but I can fit more suitcases, weird

I believe that the forward and sideways spaces are the same in the 530e as in the ICE only 5 series vehicles. But the available height is reduced.

One can't compare the trunk space on a phev with that of an ICE only vehicle. The phev has to account for the batteries in addition to the gas tank; the ICE only vehicle only has to account for the gas tank.

Everyone has to have their own test for capacity based on how they will use the car. For me, the trunk had to be able to hold my golf clubs.
