Carbahn standard vs EVO tune

I’ve searched for other threads but haven’t been able to find one referencing this topic.

I have a 2018 M550i looking to ECU tune. Does anyone have experience with or know the differences in the Carbahn Evo tune and their standard tune?

I appreciate any insight.

EVO tune allows you to use various fuel octane (93 to 100 octane) without getting a customized tune for each fuel octane. The standard tune is only 93 octane.

That's interesting. Any word on how it works? I believe that the BM3 Flex-Fuel tune uses an ethanol sensor but maybe Carbahn just keeps advancing timing until it senses a knock? Honestly the latter makes more sense since octane is ultimately what matters, not necessarily ethanol content.

I don’t have this tune, but from my understanding it adjusts based on fuel added, without any user input. So your guess of advance timing is probably what’s happening.
