Collected my car today. Everything went as planned. All working perfectly. Dealer wanted to go through all the options and modes. I just wanted to get on the road. Really happy with it. Seats are definitely a step up from the F10.

I am invited to test G30 in Mondello this coming weekend and make up my mind if the G30 is the way forward or look into the GC 4 or 6.
In the mean time I made a jump for a 911 2nd hand 40k miles with 2 previous owners only very happy with the move, makes the G30 experience very numb and very soul less, but will only use it summers, hence leaning for changing my every day F10 to GC 4 or 6 exiting models. I am probably simply not yet ready to settle for a car that so far feels more like a 7 series.
I am going there tomorrow. Can't wait.

These were two pictures I took at the dealership when I collected it. The car on the right is my old one.

I had venetian beige in my F10. When I bought it I changed the mats to black ones. It held up really well. I put the beige mats back into it when I was bringing it back to the dealer today. They were like new!!

Have any of you guys figured out - or had explained to you - what Active Guard is (standard in Ireland I believe). I'm assuming it's a camera based system to avoid low speed collisions in city environments, which means there should be a camera near the rear view mirror, although if you get the Icon lights or high beam assist that will also use a camera mounted there. Interested to hear...alternatively one of you might like to volunteer to test it by driving towards a wall at about 30 kph to what happens!!

Active guard
- seatbelts get more tight when u start the drive
- in risk situations it set the seatbelt and seats to collision mode
- before crash the car close all windows, roof one too
- after crash the car brake itself
- monitors ur reactions and tell u if u are tired to take a break

Well wear Tony.
That my local dealer Conlan's.
Bought there before and nice guys but let me down on cost to change in last two deals.

Are those alloys 17"or 18"?
Much nicer than standard.

You are right. I had originally ordered it with the standard wheel. They had them in stock and I did a deal for them. Cheaper that way as there was no increase in VRT for the car.

Health to wear! Very sharp colour. The standard seats are very good indeed. What spec did you go for apart from the 18'' rims - great looking jobs btw.

Even though I am Irish can somebody explain to me the origins of the phrase "well wear", I assume health to wear above is related. Any time I get a new car people say it to me. Is it a Limerick thing, or more widespread???!!!

It comes from Irish - 'Go maire tú do is go gcaithe tú é.' It means 'May you live to wear it.' As in 'wear it out'. In other words, may you outlive it.
