A 6-cylinder diesel with 4 turbos???

I'm not too familiar with engine configs but that sounds insane. Some really complex cars out in Europe and none of them make it here in the states -_-

Bring this to the USA!
All we have to do is make a case (full of moneys) to trumputin!
And he will dismantle the agencies that regulate CO2 and NOX emissions just like the he did for coal. Bring back coal... I mean bring back the diesels!

Actually, for such a monster of an engine, the CO2 emissions are pretty amazing: combined CO2 emissions: 154 g/km* for the sedan and 163 g/km for the Touring. To give you an idea it's about the same as an Audi S3...

Another amazing thing is the efficiency of this engine: combined fuel consumption: 5.9 l/100 km (39.9 MPG) for the sedan and 6.2 l/100 km (38 MPG) for the touring!

Why is there always one or two guys who have to bring politics into everything? This is about BMWs, not your political rants. If you want to whine about politics, there are plenty of other sites to do that. Key words...plenty of other. I welcome all opinions about BMWs. But please keep your politics out of a car fan forum. Thank you.

Given the dismal station wagon uptake in America I can see why BMW wouldn't go through the trouble of making this wagon available in the US, but it would be a real shame if this outstanding motor didn't find its way into BMW North America's current diesel lineup.

I'm going to stick my neck out and say the G31 M550d wagon is probably the 'best package' BMW to hit production, at the present time. Going to be one exceptional machine.

It is everything a BMW shouldn't really be. Big, heavy, diesel, xDrive and a wagon. Makes the near perfect BMW for our time.

Don't get your panties in a bunch. Take a chill pill! I don't think he was whining at all. People on this forum can say whatever they want. Who made you the forum police?

I think gabreigns is just jealous that we Germans get it and Americans wont be getting it.
I feel your pain.
And I also get your joke... even though I am a proud german.
Unlike do5wtt who does not and takes offense to everything probably.

Agreed! It would be great to see this in the X5 or even the X7!

Thanks for translating. What's the fuel consumption (aka gas mileage) in American?

Completely agree; the anti-Trump stuff is tiresome. If I want to hear or read the incessant negativity about our President, then I'll watch the schmucks on MSNBC.

Leave politics out ... the car looks amazing and will be a beast, though very very unlikely to be offered here in the States (partially thanks to VW and their whole debacle).

Actually if they do an M performance X7 you might be able to use launch control down the bus lanes without getting a ticket
