Another US market oddity: climate control interface

Just noticed another thing in the vein of the fully digital instrument cluster outside the US...the US market gets a substandard climate control interface, and non-US markets (at least as an option with 4 zone climate control) have a fully digital screen for a portion of the climate control interface. Why? Does BMW think the US market not like the "tech" features?

It's cheaper. The US market is low-margin for these cars, so BMW is trying to cut cost on US models.

In addition to cutting costs, they are trying to increase the profitability in the US by changing things on the revenue side like lease terms.

Hmm, I don't think it is a deal breaker.
I set my AC in Auto mode, so all I need to touch is just the temp dial.
Even the seat heating is rarely used, unless if the car being parked outside overnight.
And I don't keep my eye on the AC controller too long. So as long as they are visible and functional, I am good.

Meanwhile, the instrument cluster and HUD are the big thing for me, since I see it all the time when I am driving.

There must be many things that went wrong in the US market, look at the bumper guards to the older cars that were originally made in Germany such as BMW, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz and other makes as well .I know that was related to Federal Laws but EU Spec cars looked nicer of that eras while US Spec look too weird because of bumper extensions .
Don't get me wrong I like bumper guards like Cadillacs' but European ones looked weird
4 Zone A/C is very cool and numbers also grow in size when you close your hands towards it ,very cutting edge technology

I know I've ordered he 4 zone now but my only reservation was the increased digitisation of the buttons. I prefer real buttons for these things so the hand eye coordination needs to be less. Eyes on the road is definitely more preferable. Our Toyota taught us that.

Does anybody know, will the panel of the 4 Zone be retrofittable to the normal 2 Zone climate control?

I really don't get why BMW is cheaping out on the G30 for the US market. First the instrument cluster, then the lack of 4-Zone climate control and now this climate control interface.

This better be rectified before the next model year starts in a few months, otherwise I wouldn't hold my breath until LCI or if someone manages to special order.
