Lane Change Warning + Auto breaking with ACC

So,it seems these features are standard now.

I did not add the ACC options or any safety items, but two things work on my car that I did not expect:

- Lane change with oncoming traffic, flashing warning on electronic dashboard and alarm

- Driving behind a bus yesterday, at about 20 mph, bus slowed down rapidly, and my car auto-braked after sounding an alarm... it was quite strange I must say, but very safe...

I do have the green button next to hazard lamp button (which I think was added because of rear view camera), and I do have High Beam Assist which has two cameras at front to support it... it must be that camera which picks this all up

Never had it on my F10

Drivers assistance plus gives you that small icon with the green ring around it next to the hazard button.

This package gives you the frontal collision warning which slowed your car down when it detected the bus abruptly stopping.

I dont have drivers assistant plus but I have the small icon with the green ring next to it, I have seen a red car icon flash up in the middle of my dashboard if a car suddenly breaks but not sure about the auto braking? Is this standard, don't really fancy testing this out haha.

Then I suspect you have it, and it will work regardless. Unless you disable it 😂

I don't have any driving assistance on my car and the other day a car was slowing downing turning to the left. I did get a red car in the middle of the display but it did not brake as I steered around him.

I think it's becoming regulation in Europe so all of the g30s have it. The ncap test results include testing of these standard features.

UK SE and MSport include Dynamic Cruise control with Automatic Braking (this isn't ACC though).

The "normal" cruise control (not the base LIM Variant). Don't think your car has Lane Departure and definitely doesn't have ACC. It would have Active Guard as standard and by your description, that's what's activating.

So it's cruise control with brake function and emergency brake added to the mix. Sounds like there's also lane departure warning as standard maybe too.

+1

The lane departure works ONLY when your encroach into another lane and it detects an oncoming vehicle (on my vehicle anyway)... I believe it is the most basic standard option...

Yeah this is not the same thing as active cruise control.

The active cruise control will follow the speed of the car in front. So you set it a 70 as a maximum the car will them lock onto the car in front and follow that car. If the car in front comes to a complete stop your car will do the same and if it pulls of again your car will follow.

The auto emergency brake is another feature. It's done it on mine a couple of times and it very good. But it has also done it when I was approaching a parked car to overtake, I had to pull out later than you normally would because of a car parked on the opposite side, kind of like a chicane. It wasn't ideal and scared the crap out of me.
