Here's the latest update (11 months in) for spray on, wipe off ceramic coatings Gtechniq did pretty good, has been weak since the 7 month mark, but still hanging in there. The cost/performance leader is Griots Garage 3 in 1 ceramic spray $20! Still very hydrophobic at 11 months. Obviously on a garaged car these products can last much longer. I am still using up the crappy CarPro Reload that failed at 2 months. But on my Ferrari it lasts for 7 or 8 months since it rarely sees rain. The future seems to be in the graphene products, which seem to be performing well, but more expensive. |

It will be interesting to see ScottHD add the Ceramic Speed Shine to his durability tests and see how it compares. |

I'm trying to use up my crappy CarPro Reload, so on a couple of my cars I use it after each wash during the dry down. For my daily drivers that sit outside, about every four or five months I use a clay mitt after washing, then the Griots 3 in 1 Ceramic Spray. Last edited by 430Scud; 08-27-2021 at 07:21 PM.. |

I have been a diehard Adam's and Chemical Guys fan for years. With that said, I have been mixing Griots into the mix, specifically their Best in Show Detailer. With its almost instant flashpoint I can use it in the sun if need be on my dark graphite M550. It also boosts up the luster. I ceramic coated my wife's new black Mercedes and use the ceramic speed shine to keep it clean - great stuff!

Its a great marketing program, as it seems to always get me hooked on their stuff. Super friendly and helpful staff too. https://www.griotsgarage.com/home.do It amazes me after all these years of driving to Tacoma, WA to pick their products up, you can find it at many mass merchant stores, and even local specialty car repair shops. They have really gone "big time". They sponsor car shows at their store in Tacoma most weekends, and depending on the Club or car maker headlined, can have a huge turn out. https://www.griotsgarage.com/categor...t+us/events.do Inside they have the owner's cars on display (always changing) as well as customer cars on loan for a month at a time. They have also added a car restoration shop recently and our car club got a tour. https://griotsmotors.com/about-us Last edited by 430Scud; 09-18-2021 at 02:42 PM.. |

Old post...but I thought I would add my 2 cents worth. Zymol hands down for me. You can use it on your windshield, plastics and black trim. I've used it on my 93 mustang for 29 years and the paint is original and mint. I use it on my Viper as well. I don't know many that have as many years experience with a wax product. Easy on...easy off.

-wash
-decontaminate with something like Iron X -clay bar -polish -panel wipe -ceramic coat -top coat Sounds like a lot of work (and it is) but it will produce results far better than a "wash and wax" and will last quite a bit longer as well. Two coats of CQuartz UK 3.0, plus one coat of Gliss, plus a top coat of Reload (all CarPro products) and you will be set. Simple re-apply Reload (or another SiO2 top coat) every 6 months and you'll be very happy with the results. |

Wonder if he tests "Clutch" (by Shine Supply). I've used that for a while and been quite happy. [EDIT: Looks like Shine Supply Clutch lasted 5 months, failed at the 7 month mark.] My car is garaged daily and only driven about 6k miles/year, so Reload should be "good enough" but I will check out the comparison. Thanks again. Last edited by dhodory; 03-24-2022 at 02:39 PM.. |
