Only you can make that decision.
I would say that with both being very dark colours is to look after the paintwork, ie avoiding swirl marks. Both of these colours look stunning when clean but will show swirlmarks if the paintwork is not cared for and lose that wow effect they have when clean and in the sun. Good luck deciding as the colour is one of the more difficult decisions to make! |

Can't go wrong with either but I would pick the carbon black. Both are beautiful cars.

Consider budgeting for a ceramic coating for those darker cars. Carbon Black is a stunning color that appears black or dark blue depending on the lighting and time of day.
I would invest in having something like Ceramic Pro applied - it can help protect from minor swirls and also maintain that new car look. It also allows for less cleaning maintenance on the car. After one year, my Ceramic Pro car looks the same as when I picked it up.

Same with me. My 2019 540xi is the second BMW I have had in Carbon Black--the 2010 535xi M Sport was the same; both have tan interiors. I really love the combo and love when people are (frequently) surprised to notice the car is very dark blue, not the more common black. But in the end it is your personal choice.--Bob

Thanks for feedback guys So the BS is approx 5000 more expensive but the dealer will supply a full AC-Schnitzer exhaust with mid pipes, AC-S lowering springs and a ceramic coating......

Love carbon black. Agree with others that, regardless of which black, it's worthwhile to invest in paint protection film and/or ceramic coat (I did both on mine). Mine still looks better than new after 26k miles

I have had 2 carbon blacks 550's and two black sapphires (640 and M550) , my next car will be black sapphire. Why you ask?
BS is black, you are never confused if its black or blue like CB. I like it a lot better than CB. |

Carbon black, so when your speeding at dusk and someone calls the police they will say a blue car. Then later that night when you get pulled over you can say no this is a black car it wasn't me!
