Navigation Greyed Out

Sorry for the confusion, the car belongs to a friend of mine who told me it has navigation, but it is inactive. Now I also checked the car has no factory navigation. I apologize once again for the stupid situation.

And here I was thinking I was doing so well trying to convert an i3 from Japan to NZ. Hmm, I have ended up in what seems to be same situation as some of the guys here, had Navigation, now it has gone grey (and so am I!).

I managed to get the maps updated and when the head unit restarted Navigation was there, for about two seconds, then back to grey. To help:

Hi shawn i believe is changing that on bimmercode. I did success on few japan import bmw just by changing the code and install latest nz map by usb enter fsc code. Works perfect. Until i met a 2014 116i from japan and i did everything above but after success installed nz map the navi grayed out. And i have a usb fsc retrofit package for this vehicle. Is that gonna work? fsc certifcate generated from it vin. Everything is stock just changed country code.

It should work same as always.

You need to check FSC Codes, and see if you show A0 or A1, and is it and DE FSC Code accepted?

I don't have Step by Step Guide for this.

Assuming hardware is installed and working, you need to Code NBT to car, and then use either Emulator with NBT Donor FSC Codes or you need NBT Patch and Full Set of VIN Matching FSC Codes.

Hi Shawn, my 2018 G30 has started experiencing the same issue with the Navi where it doesn't get past the loading screen. Every minute or two, the whole iDrive system keeps resetting on its own and tries again. Worst part is my warranty expired 2 weeks ago. I haven't made any mods and it is still in original factory state.

Short VIN is WA74917

Please advise. Many thanks!

What preceded this? Was Car Coded or map update attempted?

Nothing at all to my knowledge and I'm the only one that touches the vehicle. If BMW pushed an update, I don't know. It first happened about 2 weeks ago but fixed itself on the next startup, but now it's seems permanent, though, on one trip today the navi loaded after some time.

Hello all, I've just finished flashing my NBTevo from _L to _X and lost Nav and speech rec. Carplay is working fine. Did I loose my FSC codes? Could anyone point me in the right direction.

Seems so. If you had aftermarket FSC Code solution, you need to reinstall it. If it was old .bin file though, you will not be able to reinstall.
