Got this deal quote today for a custom build from an area dealer based on Feb incentives, with the possibility it could get better later in the year if things change when the car arrives.
MSRP - $84,335.00 Selling price (before rebates) - $78,366.00 BMW Rebates - $4,000 (lease + loyalty, will get BMW CCA separate) Residual - 60% MF .00142 Monthly - $850 Due at sign - $4,780 36/10,000 miles What do you guys think, is this a pretty good deal for a custom order. Or is there more meat on the table to shop around/push for? Thanks for your input! |

Thank you for the reply!
The $4700 at sign includes pre-payment of all my local taxes, so there would not be any further money down. Though these lower than $800 lease deals sound quite nice. I wonder if those brokers can offer a custom order deal though? (Important to me to get all the right options/colors I want and not to settle on such an expensive car). My client advisor did say that $850 would be the ceiling, and targeting my delivery date of around late August, the incentives should be stronger to get it to drop. This is just the deal they'd let me credit lock now and keep on ice until timing works to exit my current lease and fully take delivery. |

I don't know about leasing, but I don't think that is a very good deal. The 'purchase price' that your lease is based on is only a 7% discount from MSRP. I negotiated over 22% off MSRP for the purchase of my 2020 M550 in January with an MSRP of a bit over $87k.

Off the lot vehicle? Are you including finance incentive $4500 (purchase vs lease) and $2000 loyalty also in your 22% off?

I'm including all possible incentives in my discount number. I told the Sales Manager I didn't care how he came up with the final price; whether it was incentives or straight discount off the MSRP. I said this was the number I wanted to spend for a cash purchase, excluding mandatory sales tax.

Custom order or you found a pre-build vehicle off the lot?

I actually was going to custom order a 2020 in Oct 2019. I designed/spec'd the car and negotiated the price down to 12% off MSRP. But, I then decided to wait for the LCI in July 2020 and look at ordering then. The dealer liked the build I designed and went ahead and built the car anyway. They called me when it came in to come see. It couldn't resist buying at a 22% discount. I'm sure the LCI will have a few nice tech upgrades but the price on the 2020 was right for me.
