2022 530i Issue with 360 3d View and Sirius XM
My wife bought a 2022 530i car last November to replace her 2016 528i car.
The 2016 528i had the 360 degree 3D view options, which offered amazingly visibility when parking. When purchasing the 2022 model she wanted the same driving options including the 360 3D view. Never, during the buying and ordering process, did the sales person or the dealership mentioned that is optioned was not available. This was a major omission on the part of the dealership. If we had known, we would not have purchased the 2022 car. We are trying to negotiate a working solution to this problem that BMW created. The other issue is getting the 1-year free trial subscription of Sirius XM. The 2016 model was easy to set up and the Sirius XM radio was activated days after purchase. Unfortunately, it has take us over 2 months to activate. According to Sirius XM tech support, there seems to be an issue only with all of BMWs 2022 models. There are no issues with Mercedes Benz, Audi, or VW. Has anyone else experienced these issue? If so, how have they been resolved? Thanks. |

I think XM is omitted. My brother recently got a 2022 X3 and it does not have XM or surround view cameras. He did however get notified prior. I think he even got credited off original quote

Last week I got news from dealer - factory is lacking 360 parking cameras. Have two options - delete this option and probably will get built on the march, or leave it and wait for the availability of 360 cameras. In this case wait time us unknown. Decided to drop this option. Ordered in early November, order in Europe, Lithuania.

That is a bummer about 360 parking camera. Love that feature.
Sirius makes no sense. If that is true too then will not be buying a BMW, as travel a lot and Sirius is great for travel. |

I think it's hit or miss with the build. My first order in Dec 2021 was built without the Parking Assistant Plus package. I noticed in the online build specs that it was not as I specified. The dealer was not aware nor were they notified about the build change from Germany. I had to let them know after seeing the final build on MyBMW.
So I cancelled that order and ordered the exact same car a second time. This time it was built correctly. Dealer is keeping the first car to sell on the lot; mine is production complete and awaiting shipping assignment. It is showing both the 5DN Parking Assistant Plus and 655 Satellite Radio, plus everything else that was optioned. Last edited by YETIinFL; 02-11-2022 at 03:53 PM.. Reason: Spelling |

I would not accept a car if a feature that I wanted like the 360 camera was missing. Sirius was active the same day that I picked up my 2022 M550 (December) and works flawlessly. I don't understand why activation would be an issue.

Sorry OP but this is on you IMHO.
Back when we built our car in Aug of 2021 we knew 360 / Parking Assist Pro was not available. Did you not check the standard features? Did you not look at the additional package / options available for your build? As for Sirius XM, when we took deliver at the PDC in Jan of 2022 the Sirius XM was already active and no action was needed on our part. |

BMW says its the chip shortage on why the feature on the camera was limited to certain models. Pretty dumb to me. Unavailable on 2022 530i but the 550 has it and of course the M.

I believe the issue with the 360 3D view or lack thereof has to do with which country the car is manufactured. The South Carolina plant makes all the X models and they do make the 360 3D view option. The plants in Germany do not offer that option at least at the time of our ordering it in Aug 2021. Not clear as to how BMW made that decision.
I asked the dealer if they could install this option once the equipment was available and they said no. I then asked the dealer what would happen to a 2022 X model car that was damaged, would the service department be able to get the replacement parts for the 360 3D feature and they said no. What? Why? |
