With all of the talk about M550i production stopping soon I’m thrilled that I was able to get my order in and as of today production is being scheduled.

This is my first BMW. Coming over from having a 2019 merc C43. Very excited to be coming over to the BMW side.

Welcome. Did your dealer give you a production number? Scheduled production week? Have you created an account on bmwusa.com and added the production number to your account? So much fun to track your build.

Did you get the parking assist package? It comes with 360 cameras which are really helpful since the m550 is low car. Helps me stop right before curbs.

They did and yes I have. I don’t see where I can see the production week. It just says scheduled.

Absolutely did! It’s going to be great for not hitting curbs when parking. Does the car “sense” when you’re parking and turn on the 360 cameras for you or do you need to select something on the screen?

If I stealth ppf it, any thoughts on making the trunk badges black except for the M (shiny or matte)?

It’s ok but not great when pulling in (delay). I just make it a habit of pushing the camera button when parking.

Yes, in the same area below the drive mode buttons (comfort/sport/eco/adaptive). When pressed it shows the front+360 cameras (you can use the iDrive controller to change cameras). This is the same button that enables park assist.

I got mine a month ago (build week 6) and an throughly impressed and pleased with it

If seen that said a few times. Where are you getting that info? The dealers haven’t been told that.

My dealer told me that , well that’s at least for the U.K. although to be fair that is a smaller market( just over 200 of them in the U.K.)

Either way you’ll love the car. Very high quality product, very refined and surprisingly economical if you drive it gently

I see. I think the UK may be different than the US market for production. No dealer I’ve spoken with in the US has been told that.
I’m thrilled. My test drives have been great. As you said, the suspension is amazing. Like butter over road imperfections.

If you go with the stealth, a matte finish would look real nice. Have you found an installer for ppf? If so what product do they use?

Mine is in the shop for front bumper ppf (XPEL) and full ceramic coating (Gtechniq Ultra/C5).

I think I’d like to use XPEL and I found an installer not far from me with great reviews that is an authorized dealer of XPEL. And Yes, would go with matte.

Nice. XPEL Stealth is a great PPF. Upload pics when you get it done!

I'd recommend telling your installer to PPF the interior center console area/touchscreen too. All the glossy sections would be protected from scratches. I saw that XPEL already has these templates for 2023 models so I asked my installer to do it!

Which part is glossy? I think the interior wood trim I got is more of a matte look.
