Auto folding option alone do not give you tilting mirror any more. You would now need to have full electric seats or comfort seats before you get a tilting mirror. I have the auto folding option and my passenger side mirror does no tilt no matter where I put the slider. I took my car to the dealer and the above was confirmed

Yes this is true. Since my comment this came to light in the forum and dealer confirmed too.

Separate FA SA Codes: 430 & 431.

What's that code, sorry...

The catalogue says 'exterior mirrors - folding, with anti-dazzle ... 4T8'

Nothing about it being driver side only (in which case it would surely be false to state 'mirrors')

Sorry, I was thinking about F-series codes.
  • 430 Auto-dimming interior & driver exterior mirror.
  • 431 Auto-dimming rearview mirror.
G030:
  • 4T8 Auto-dimming driver exterior mirror
  • 431 Auto-dimming rearview mirror
EDIT: It may be a regional thing. The above descriptions are from North America. A G12 brochure I have says 4T8 Exterior mirror(s)-folding with anti-dazzle, but NA G012 ordering guide just says Auto dimming mirrors.

If Bmw want to argue this then the price guide and the contract both state 'mirrors'. There are only 2 external mirrors. If the option is there but not being offered that is ridiculous. Why split it and only offer driver side when it's always been combined before?

Both F-series and G-series in US specifically say driver mirror. If yours says both, I would hope that is what you got. There is coding to check if it is set to driver only.

Time will tell I guess. I get pretty dazzled if the mirrors aren't anti dazzle and this is an option I've paid for specifically in the past coz it's pretty key for me.

You get dazzled in all mirrors (exterior, driver side, & passenger side)?

You can adjust dimming through coding.

Confused. Dimming must require some hardware in the mirrors. Are you saying Bmw are putting the hardware in always but charging people for coding?

Anyway in the options it say rear view mirror is dimming and the exterior mirrors are anti-dazzle (I assume this is the same as dimming).

Should suit me.

It requires hardware, but there are coding parameters to enable just driver or both as well as degree of dimming.

Guys, what is needed to make the passenger mirror also auto dimming? I have bought the mirror glasses, because mine where without blind spot and it was driving me crazy.

Today, while I was changing them, I saw that only my driver's mirror has the connector for auto dimming, while the passenger mirror doesn't have the connector

Now my passenger mirror has the option for auto dimming, but I cannot plug it in.

My question would be - what is needed? Coding + wiring from the door to the glass or I need to put wires everywhere.
