Sorry to beat a dead horse here but when I shut the car off and open the front passenger door and radio turns off, driver's door no. I have an 18 M550. After reading the whole thread I did the procedure of taking seat belt off, turn car off, wait 3 seconds then open driver's door then radio shuts off. But just sitting there and having to wait is stupid, I pull into my driveway late at night with the radio turned up and open the door to fast and the whole neighborhood hears my tunes. I remember coding my F10 550 to turn off radio but can't figure out how on the G30. Further research is needed, I don't want to push buttons or wait to get out of the car, I bought a car not a damn airplane with a check list...

I've basically learned to just put it park, cut the engine, and then open the door. It maybe takes an extra 1-2 seconds. The car just has to recognize that you've cut the engine. I figured out that I was hitting the button but then opening the door before the engine really cut. I have skimmed some comments talking about waiting 2-3 minutes but that's a huge exaggeration. It's just that one second for the engine to cut. Of course, this all assumes that your idrive settings are set to shut everything off when you exit the vehicle. One last thing I've noticed is that I think it takes an extra half second for the computer to realize it's in park. I've always had GM SUVs and basically would hard stop, throw the shifter into Park, and jump out, again seemingly in one motion. It feels like the BMW system with the push button for Park takes that half second to fully engage.
