You need to use ISTA or esys to check your ilevel or ask the dealer to update. However there is not normally a need to do so, it can often make things worse that we’re fine before. There isn’t really a list of what’s new in each software, it’s more of a bug fix type thing rather than feature update. That being said I think people are speculating that the latest version may have the ability to code certain things that were not previously available, as it’s the first or second version that’s come out since the LCI G3x platform has been out, which does have some additional features. It’s not yet known whether any new features on the LCI model can be coded on pre lci cars yet. At least, not that I’m aware of.

Be very careful when coding your BDC. I was coding and may have done too much coding back too back and fried something I the car the engine kept running but most all electrical. Car sat in driveway for three days and had to be towed to shop.

Don't code the BDC with the engine running ! It's been known to crap out in the past.

Ideally, never leave the engine running for any ECU, and instead connect to a power supply

Follow up questions. I know it’s easy to code the Bronze ambient setting to any colour combo you want, before I dig out my esys laptop, is it possible to do that in all colour items in the menu, ie so they are all custom colours?

Also I know cheat sheets don’t exist anymore as such, but code my car has a list of things they can code on g30s. Is there an easy way to find out the coding parameters for these items?

Thanks
Yes you can code all the default color schemes into any color combination you like using the expert mode in bimmercode or Esys

- Dyanamic Ambient Light/ flashing Ambient Light in the door when Open

- FES Ambient Light / Changing Color in Sport Mode?

- Did someone know how to get CarPlay Navigation in to the hud?

I activated that once in BDC "Ambiente_RGB_lauflicht_bei_tueroffen" , but nothing has changed for me, I would like to bring the ambient light in the doors flashing when they are open, just like in this Video: at 1:15
Did you figure this out?

Those options are there before the update maybe you missed them, but they never works on pre-LCI model (as mine). I've tried them many times. Ambient light flashing also requires new BDC in LCI models.

FES Ambient Light / Changing Color in Sport Mode is for pre G cars (or for Mini) etc.

Modfying anything on HUD is also not possible.

Even when the I step version is updated to the newest version.
