Have anyone add keyless entry to their car? My 540i came with keyless start, but not keyless entry.

Any recommended shop in SF Bay Area that can do this would be greatly appreciated.

On the handle there is a sensor right corner press with finger to open or closed the doors

I did not knew that touched by mistake and my car locked

Open I just hold the handle and it opens

I beleive there may be other option doors open when approach but never tried that

Yeah - mine doesn’t have that. It is really weird that bmw would do only partial!

What year is your 540?
My 2021/first bmw has an option when you walk up to the door it just unlocks. And when you walk away it will lock.

Comfort access is standard on all 5 series now. How can your car not have it?

The G30 didn't get remote start until MY2021 with the LCI (the G30 530e trim got it in MY2018 at launch). As a result, your remote start is an aftermarket implementation which is why you have one and not the other.

The G30 wiring document lists the parts and wiring involved in comfort access. It looks pretty extensive in that you need new door handles, locks, antennas, and other parts. It is also controlled by the BDC and there is a difference in the BDC for the G30 based on options. You may need to swap that too. Been a while since I went through the documents in the thread, but you can review them to get a more definitive idea.

It is standard on later MY G30 cars. I think maybe MY2020 was the first MY where it was standard. But it could be another one. It wasn't standard at the launch of the G30 in MY2017.

Region makeup will vary options and trim wise for sure. I was referring to the US since the OP was US based.

It wasn't until MY2020 that Comfort Access was added as a standard feature in the US.
