Why do many people dislike the chrome ?

If it were so "bad or unsightly" nearly ALL car manufacturers who utilize it regularly, would stop.
It definitely has its place and even looks great with the right color combo.
I've always liked shiny things. And I'm not alone.

I think the blackout or chrome delete thing is a US focused phenomenon. I think ex. US there is more appreciation for chrome and it is viewed more as classy. US car people in general just can't leave well enough alone. They buy their dream car and immediately start asking how can I change it.

To each his own though, only bothers me when I see a really ghetto'd out car with fake m badged and M grill fins.

I think they realize they can capitalize off it make $ of it. The shadow line trim basically uses the same parts but black color ( I'm sure doesn't cost them extra) but charge people

Totally agree!! Same reason OEM's started offering black wheels imo.

I don't think chrome is that bad. Honestly, I think that it is the best search engine. I never knew that people hated it a lot. (I'm joking) I do agree with what many people are saying. Especially for the US market. Not a big fan of black rims though. I love the Bi-Color ones.

They're putting black wheels on minivans now. I think the "shadowline" trend's days are numbered. I'm not crazy about chrome, but it's timelessness can't be denied.

I think a small amount of chrome can be tasteful. Mostly it's easy to match. I think people are blacking out their exterior trims even with blues and reds and medium gray colors where it looks a bit off...

I think the Bernina with the extended shadowline looks great. Most of the 540is I am finding don't have it though. Does anyone know if that can be added after the fact?

I love bernia as well. I hope to god it's not over done and everywhere when it comes time for my next car.

I think it would be difficult to don't after, but you could definitely wrap it.
