Carplay options
Hi everyone, my car is a 2017 with idrive 6, i dont have CarPlay, and would like to get it. So far the options i see are:
1. Buy $300 from connected store (does anybody know if this will be full screen on ID6?) 2. Buy the FSC from some vendor here… likely cheaper though i dont have PC. 3. I read 2019 forward cars have free Carplay,… i wonder if there is any way dealer or BMW costumer service can activate it for free?? one can only hope  Thanks in advance! |

ID6 will be 2/3 screen carplay. ID7 will have full screen. I was told that to get full screen you need to somehow upgrade to ID7.
I believe the $300 is now a 1 time fee for carplay. I'm not 100% sure on that though. |

Go with Option #1 and then spend $50 bucks on a quick procedure for FS Carplay. I "gotta guy" who took care of me on FS Carplay. Super easy. PM me if you want the deets.
Yes, it is absurd that BMW charges for Apple Carplay when Kia's and everyone else throws it in for free, but stay away from the hack mods just to save a few bucks.
