M Sport 540i without M Sport Brakes?

So I purchased a M Sport 540i CPO last year and it has the grey brakes not the blue m sport ones, is it possible to have a M sport 540i 2017 without the blue m sport brakes? If so what brakes do I have?

I don't believe the blue caliper M-Sport brakes were offered on the 2017 540i sport (or maybe not at all for other MY's). These are specific to the M550 to the best of my knowledge.

The M Sport brakes system was an "optioned" item for MY '17-'18. Although, you can upgrade either to M Sport brakes (blue caliper), or an M Performance brakes (red caliper w/ larger dimpled front/rear rotors when compared to M Sport brakes). The cost is pretty high for both brake systems (especially for an M Performance brakes).

its a stand alone option in the states, m sport package does not include the brakes unless its optioned seperately.

If it's the colored calipers you are really in search of vs. performance, just have your calipers painted and stick an M badge on them if that's your thing.

In Canada for MY 2017-2018 it is an option. I have the Msport package and Do not have the blue M brakes. At the time I think it was an 800-1000$ option which is a bargain because if you buy the M brakes at the dealer it's like 2000 + install costs (or DIY if you are handy).

I second this! Painting calipers is pretty easy and much cheaper. I don't think the gains are worth the cost for a daily driver.

Thank you I'll stick to my regular brakes, I'm happy with them and the minimum dust they produce. I may be open to painting them orange or bronze to contrast the carbon black metallic.

The brakes definitely good. I'm the nearly 4 years I've had my car I used to thei maximum a short while back. First time I've used the ABS on the car. In fact emergency brake assist kicked in I'm sure and I was very impressed at how much speed was scrubbed off in such a short distance.
