Which I thought was stupid. They built a car with every single option and they skimped on the seating package? Really?

So at least that has the Driver Assist Professional, the Parking Assist Plus, and all the other things I wanted. It also has a lot of stuff I didn't need, but are really cool to have like the Executive Package, the M-Sport package, 20" wheels. It even has that camera recorder in the front. Of course it costs a ton more than what I would have wanted with my own build, but when you're picky about features, I guess, I'll have to deal. The horror.

Anyway, I talked to the guy and he said the high end cars, like the 7s above are getting the PAP. But this chip shortage is a huge deal that's not just affecting cars. He said something about refrigerators not coming with ice makers too, which just seems incredible.
It's not a great time to buy anything electronic I guess.
Where's the order guide?

The LCI X3 and X4 offers the PAP on all versions. Hmmmm.

And in reading the 4 series GC announcement, both the 430 and 440 offer PAP.

This app stinks. Could not see the link to the ordering guide in the app but was able to see it in the web version. Thanks very much. No m550i in there however☹️. Any chance you have that one too?

That's the only one I was given. But I was told that the 5 series are going to have similar packages and features as in the current guide.
No 5 series is going to had the PAP.

Sigh no B&W sound system for the 540 again

Any idea if as component shortages lessen they’ll add the PAP back in? Do BMW do that sometimes or once the MY is set it’s set in stone?

Yes, mid year changes occur. Usually November, December, February or March.

I'm sure BMW is looking to return this back to normal as they see part lead times improve.

Thanks was waiting to see the actual doc...What's strange is I have a production number for a 2022 m550i (WOOT WOOT!) that shows my dealer added Parking Assistance package but pricing guide doesn't have it which worries me.

Seems like 2022 is really getting a haircut coming from a 2018 m550i and losing wireless charging (seriously?!), auto trunk sensor, no soft close doors, and if parking assistance is out too, thats wild.

Also noticed on the dealers option ordering:

32X Delete hands-free tailgate operation -100.00
32Z Deletion of BMW Digital Key -80.00

I asked the dealer to play around with the $150 trunk spare and wheels options and see if that removed the hands free tailgate deletion but it stayed so thinking thats for sure out in the 2022 unless they get some chips over there fast. And no iphone key which also would have been a nice new feature

The trunk is still electronic close, but you lose the ability to waive your foot at it. I agree no digital iphone key kinda sucks, but there is still apple play, remote start. My 2022 build does have PAP as well even though price sheet suggested its not available.

BMW is squeezing its options for the bottom dollar. If I ever get the feeling I want a new car (will be difficult since it takes care of all my needs) I think it would be time to get a first taste of MB.

The soft close doors have been out for a year now. It was not an option for 2021. From what I've seen so far I think Parking assist is in though, so I think you're OK there.

It's all personal preferences but I think the recent Mercedes designs are absolutely atrocious. BMW would have to like take away seatbelts and air bags from their cars for me to want to go to a new Merc.

Yes that is the US ordering guide. I think 2021 ordering is done, at least for US. ZPK not listed on order guide, but I and another on the forum were able to get it added to our build when we went through it with the dealer order process. My guess is that they are trying to limit the amount of ZPK out there with the chip shortage issue, and you have to specifically ask for it.

Ahhh okay, that would make sense. I'll keep a mental note on that when I do go to the dealer to order mine. Thanks for the info.

So update from my side. My car had ticked 360 cameras. The production was scheduled for 24th week, then 25… 26…

Today I have been informed that the car was kicked out the slot. So basically it returned from status 112 to 105.

I was asked to give the agreement to delete the 360 cameras and lumbar support. So I did. (Car ordered in November, in the EU)

Gamelin, I have a M550 on order (my dealer offered to buy back my current 2021 540) with production scheduled second week of July.

What model did you order? And is lumbar support a feature of the multi contour seats?

I'd hold off on the champagne celebrations until you see your car go into production with no changes listed in dealers DCS. Or maybe even better to wait until you see the car first hand b/c it has happened in the past where cars ship with an option missing and it doesn't get noted until the window sticker is printed at the VPC.

I ordered 518d with standard seats. After my post here dealer contacted me and told that lumbar support stays in the configuration. So 360 cameras were kicked out (along with induction charging, and „kick-to-open” tailgate which were removed few weeks ago).
