That is a beauty. Too bad we don't get longroofs nor 550d in the US.

Sigh. None of these in the US. We are deprived because of the demand for SUVs here. Having just had an X5 as a loaner, I do not understand the SUV mania. The X5 is nice but it is a truck, and rides like a truck. A 5 series wagon is something I would buy in a heartbeat.

I really like the hatchback design and this will be my first sedan in about a decade. Wish the wagons were brought over to the US (hint hint BMW). Other brands like Volvo are making a killing with theirs.

I wish it were offered as an option but a "killing"...I don't think so.

Last year the US sales of the V60 totaled 2,251.

Somehow, that doesn't sound like a killing.

I think a better analysis is that offering the wagon may keep some buyers in the BMW family so in the longer term it may make sense.

I have a previous gen M550d touring (f11). Has anyone gone from that to the current generation g31 M550d? Curious about the comparison as thinking of making the switch.

Used to have an Audi wagon - most practical vehicle for our family. Just wonder why Mercedes can continue to offer their E class wagon along with all their SUVs but BMW won't.

It isn't as if BMW doesn't make wagons. They just choose not to import into the US. Now I understand the 3 series wagon will no longer be sold in the US as well. BMW is all in to SUVs in the US. I understand this is a business decision, but I do not understand the appeal of a SUV with SUV ride, size, etc. compared to a wagon, which is built on a car chassis and provides handling, exit/entry and performance of a car alomng with the practicality of the space in the back. I believe if BMW properly marketed wagons, they could sell enough to be profitable. It may be that because the SUVs are made in South Carolina that the economics are very different for BMW.

I have a sportback right now and I finally "get" the practically of it. I still prefer the aesthetic design of sedans but I understand why people like hatchbacks and wagons.

I don't know about the regular E class wagon but the E63 is available by custom order only in the US. They brought it over because MB says the people who buy it are their most loyal customers and, on average, currently own 3 other MB vehicles.

In my parents' neighbourhood there are 3 E63 wagons (black, white, and silver) and they're all owned by people with multiple MB vehicles so their market research seems to be correct.

You can get E450 wagon pretty easily (MB NYC actually had 3 in inventories).

That was my first choice but wife said a big no (she just think it's ugly)

The car featured above is a Taiwan-spec model and has standard equipment such as Harmon / Kardon sound system and the like:

Options are available such as Bowers and Wilkins Sound System and the ability to choose various exterior and interior color schemes. The only option not available in Taiwan is the panoramic sunroof (which seems to be available in German market and rest of the EU)

Interestingly, the car does not seem to be available in Right Hand Drive (?)
