My dealer was not ware of the pending update in the UK, he advised me to contact a BMW genius via the website.

Same here. I wonder if they send it out to a certain amount of people at a time, so that the server isn’t overwhelmed, maybe?

Ran the update over night. Looked at the change log today and it doesn't explicitly mention the performance issue? I wonder if there is a way on idrive to see the exact software version the car is running? If there is a correlation on the versioning world wide that would be nice.

I'm taking mine in for its first oil change service on Tuesday - I wonder if dealers here in the US will get it prior to it being pushed out "over the air"?

Go into Car Settings -> General Settings and then scroll to Remote Software Upgrade. This will display the Installed Version. Mine currently shows: 11/2020.42

I think we are only interested in 0-60mph/0-100kmh 😄. You do one of those?

Unless you are focused on stoplight drag races, the rolling acceleration performance actually has more real world value.

Lol the entire point of this thread and the recall is about launching, initial boost levels, and the 0-60 speed though…

I am aware. What I was commenting on was the fact that the rolling numbers are strong and likely more useful in most highway "encounters".

Calm down ladies. My software update was a red herring. I don't have the performance fix yet so there's no point showing you another 4.0 second 0-60 ha

Got in contact to my Dealer and asked about if the update also included my european model. Got the reply that there is an action of my model with this information from Bmw:

"Program control units (DME) 0012610500 G3x

Situation:

With the BMW 5 Series and BMW 6 Series LCI xDrive, the specified acceleration values may be minimally exceeded (up to a maximum of 10%). The reason for this is faulty communication between the corresponding control units of the chassis and drivetrain (DME calibration error)."

Sounds like the right update I think.

So is this a programmed workaround, or the actual software update?

I'm in the US

Will leave the car at the dealer in two weeks for the update. According to the guy at the workshop I talked to they are reprogramming the control unit and its not just an update which can be done over the air. Will have to leave the car for the day at the workshop.
Not sure that the guy know what he is talking about but looking forward to see how it turns out.

Hmmm that’s odd. Recall notice said it will be done “over the air” not needed to be done at the dealer etc. so not sure this is the recall fix for the 0-60 your getting?
