I have an M550i on order and its in the transport phase now. Dealership is telling me the beast should be here within the next 10 days. Longest 10 days of my life 😎
This is going to be my 3rd BMW, had the 325i, then the 228i and now M550i. Finally a V8.

Been doing a lot of reading here. Can anyone recommend a good PPF shop in the Northern NJ area. I've never done this to any of my cars but since I plan on keeping this one for a a while I'm thinking its will be a good investment. Or is it better to just go with the dealership if they offer it.

Nice congrats! I don't know shops in NJ but get a few that are decent and get some quotes. Ive got a group chat with a few of the folks on this forum and our prices varied a bit but in different regions but it can swing a bit. I'd look at ceramic coating the whole car too. I did my wheel face, barrels, and calipers too. Crazy easy to keep clean. 🥳

Our m550i's are most likely on the same ship I'm in New York and was told it should be at dealer within a week. Also in transit at the moment!

You want to call Phil at Detailer’s Domain. He is the best on NJ for sure ! His shop can handle everything from prep, paint correction, PPF and ceramic coat.

I am not sure about shops in NJ, but you can call Enthusiast Auto Works in Mamaroneck. They are one of the best in the Westchester County area. They also pick up and deliver.

Do you guys know how long your car sat at the port? Mine was finished on May 4th, but still sitting at the port now awaiting shipment to east coast.

A bit over two weeks here but I've heard it's been taking a little longer lately.

Weeks for sure, sometimes longer for some depending on destination. Depends on so many factors, not sure it is predictable. The notification on getting on a ship is also delayed, so will be out to sea by the time you know it.

About 10-14 days I don't check site everyday to see car status

You will not be disappointed. I replaced my 2018 540 (which was awesome) with a 2021 M550 in October and I love it.

Nice! Tracking is now showing from Transit to "At the Port". But it went back a step. I was reading on the forums that this is normal. It means its at the port in NJ. So should be going to dealership any day now hopefully.

Hah yes it just means it's at the destination port. You'll need to get details from your CA at this point. They'll be able to tell you when it's assigned a trucking company and track when it should be en route.

Yup, confirmed with my dealership today, he confirmed car is at the port and should be in any day now.. God willing!
