Hello Guys,

I am new to the forum. I find a lot of the information on here quite useful.

I am having quite an unusual experience with my car today. I have a 2017 G30 and today I noticed that my satnav is stuck on loading. It has been like this all evening and hasn't changed.

I have reboot the idrive a few times but that is not solving the issue. I am pretty frustrated by the issue. I have no functionality from the map and my voice input system and Bluetooth are also down.

Many thanks in advance.

I notice that you have apple carplay showing. Sometimes, with electronic devices, if a program doesn't fully load, the machine can freeze.

Try deleting apple car play and see if that works.

Cheers for your suggestion.

I tried that and it hasn't worked. I disconnected my phone and apple car play, deleted the phone from the car. When I long press on the voice control it is telling me that another Bluetooth is in progress. I also noticed that when I press the voice command button it goes straight into the Bluetooth setup screen.

A few things to try.

1
Delete the phone from everywhere again. Try pairing a different phone with your car.

2
Use the MY BMW app to send a destination to your car. I think it will show under messages. Click on it and see if it kick starts your NAV.

3
Last resort, pull the negative battery cable from the battery and wait a minute or two then reattach. This will probably work. It is effectively a hard reboot of the entire car and all it's modules.

Is Apple Carplay actually working and if so, is maps working properly? The phone does partially use the cars NAV system, so that would be a good thing of note.

Many thanks for suggesting a few tips.

CarPlay was working fine until I deleted it and try to set it up again.

The maps inside car were working working correctly.

I sent a few messages over to the car using the Mybmw app but nothing is happening when I click on the messages.

I will try and disconnect the battery and see if that helps. I also noticed that the checkbox for voice command is no longer check and it is greyed out.

I try updating the map today but the car is not even recognising the inserted usb.

Good luck. You have a lot going on there. I'd go straight to the battery cable, then to the dealer if it doesn't reset everything. Fingers crossed for you.

Excellent suggestions. Of course, if you are not that distant from a dedalership, and you are within your OEM warranty period, then just take it in.
