I might be going mad, but as of this morning there is a whistle/whine that is noticeable in the cabin at idle. It's louder at startup and then settles down but does fluctuate with light throttle. Above idle its masked by other noises.

You can still hear it with AC on.

It sounds like its coming from the back of the car. I did an audio capture and whilst not super obvious its real. Will try again with the phone on the back seat.

I went to the dealer and they could hear it but they weren't sure if it was normal in the absence of other M550is (pretty rare).

I'm not sure if its a new noise or I just never noticed before. The car is normally so quiet unless I'm in sports mode. My hope is it gets worse to the point of being very obvious.

Anyone else with an M550i heard or not heard something similar?

Did some more checking with the family and the noisy is real. It sure it’s getting any louder but can hear it outside as well. Have to wait until late June to get it diagnosed.

Finally got to the dealer and it’s the fuel pump. New one on order from Germany.
