what bicycle rack does everyone use (talking about G30 sedan)?

I prefer not to roof mount (my garage is 10 minutes walking so take it down every time would be annoying...)

I was thinking some other third party suction based method, or trunk mount, thinking about something that can carry up to 3 bicycles (really just need 2, the kids one can fit in the trunk without fold down but then you loose space

I looked into this on fro my 2017 540ix and was very disappointed.

I have the M package on my car so installing a hitch meant having to cut into the underside of the rear bumper which was a no go as my car is leased. I went back to BMW and they said that they would not install a hitch as it was a only available via factory order as there were engine changes to address teh added stress of towing -- I called BS and told them I only wanted to carry a bike or two but it was a no go, I gave up!

After looking at options that you described I discarded those as well because of the ties that would be flopping around.

In the end, I just take my front tire off and stick my bike in the care; not ideal, but the best solution for me!

It was great. Haven't used it on the 5 series but on my 3 it worked perfectly. I did take some clear helicopter tape to put on the trunk lid locations where it touched the rack to prevent any damage.
