I told my insurance I wanted a OEM replacement. They told me to go to BMW and file a claim. The dealer told me to pay around $1800 for a replacement and submit to my insurance. They wouldn't do the claim for me. After I got the quote I decided to go to safelite a mile away. My insurance uses them as a partner.

They told me they could file the claim for me and request a OEM windshield. They told me all the car dealers in the area bring there cars to them, including BMW. It was approved no problem and everything was calibrated perfectly. If your BMW dealer doesn't have an in house body shop l, chances are it's going to safelite. Just figured I'd pass it along as many of us are concerned with OEM and the calibration of the tech.
