BMW G30 tailgate sound

Hello everybody, since the autumn of last year, this awful sound has occasionally appeared when the trunk is closed. The car has already been in an authorized service twice. Lock replaced for the first time, lock cables for the second time. No effect. Next week I'm going to the next service visit. Just as a matter of interest, in the case of my husband's X3 in January locked the lock of the trunk door, the locks clicked but the door could not open, the lock changed, after 5 weeks the same problem. On Friday visit an authorized service, ordered for next week, exchange "Servoschloss Heckklappe". Does anyone have such an experience? Thanks for the reply

Sounds like the motor is on the way out. Had to have mine replaced on a 2017 after 6 months. Pretty much the same noise, but only when I pushed the close button. Lid would not even go down.

Thanks for the reply, next week will be replaced: Spindelantrieb rechts
Für Fahrzeuge mit
Automatische Heckklappenbetätigung (0316) = vorhanden
Perhaps this will solve the problem. I will divide the result. My car is also 8.2017

check if hook mounted on the body lost plastic coating. Mine chipped off so I have metal hook sliding against metal bracket - thus noise.
My solution was to use electic tape, two layers on the trunk lid bracket to cushion impact. It works.

Add; this turned out to be only temporary solution. two post below is permanent fix.

Can anyone please confirm if this is indeed the solution ? I am facing some sound coming from my boot from time to time.

Cheers.

How easy is it to DIY on a scale of 1 to 10 ?

Spindle drive on the right

Automatic tailgate operation (0316) = available

Looks like the guy had his spindle replaced by the dealer. Dunno if that worked though.

1/10. You will need to remove in trunk R side wall finish - few plastic, reusable rivets, one cargo anchor (ratchet and torx needed). All will be at front of you, very easy access, very easy installation, basically pop in place.
What you have part in hands , you will see how it installs.
If any questions, ask then.
I bought used part from e bay.

Thanks for the instructions. I have replaced a boot tension spring on my E60, so somewhat aware with the process.

I noticed the part RRP is ~$450, but found a used part around half that. Not sure, if its worth buying used, as who knows how long the used part may take before it goes out too…. How long have you had the change for ? Any issues so far with the used motor ?

I paid for used part about 120$ US
Installed 3 months ago, 6K miles.
Works well - normal quiet operation.
New part is fairly pricy and I was not sure that it was the part to replace thus opted for used.
Previously I replaced latch mechanism to address the same issue - missed shoot here.
Much easier then E60 - no muscle needed here.
