With RAM/BOOSTER there are 2 boxes with the same style connector. The bottom (BOOSTER) on has a grey connector in it and has less wires than the harness. The top box (RAM) has a black connector but seems to have more wires than the harness (i.e. some wires won't be connected if I use the harness). I'm guessing the harness goes into the RAM? http://technicpnp.com/wp-content/upl...-Booster-1.jpg I guess I can test if it messes anything up by wiring the underseat woofers to the OEM amp which I'll do tomorrow. |

It's finished.
Some further digging (and on TechnicPnP website) that is indeed the booster at the bottom the harness connects to. The install went smoothly but took hours. Routing and wrapping cables was the fiddliest part. The trickiest part was getting the TechnicPnP harness/factory harness tucked away so it wouldn't get damaged and wouldn't rattle. I found I could route the wires from the harness around a channel of the storage well on the left hand side and then down into the battery compartment. Lots of tape/plastic to stop it wearing through eventually. And lots of testing to ensure everything was working at each stage. Overall it is definitely an improvement but for the best bass folding the centre rear seat down makes a massive difference. With it up the bass is somewhat muddy, with it down it's crisp and louder. |

And a picture of the sub.

For this stealth side mount enclosure, is the driver or passenger more preferred? I feel like driver side would be better as to not have anything in the way of the passenger side fuse box.

I’ve never had to access the fuse box and in my case it’s 3 clips to remove the sub. The Velcro failed and sun kept falling out so I just used 3 L brackets with car trim clips to keep it in place.

Anyone get a qc1 delivery inspection message after disconnecting battery when adding an amp? I have not done my install yet but heard it's possible.
I'll be installing an Audiocontrol ACM 1.300 along with a JL Audio 10W1 in a stealth enclosure on the driver's side. This should enhance the B&W even more.

I installed the amp with the technic harness but the amp won't turn on using GTO which is the auto sensing feature. Anyone else use an audiocontrol amp and get GTO to work?

I originally tried an Audio Control amp with the Technic harness but the auto turn-on didn't work so I went with JL Audio instead. That one has been working fine.

I got the amp dort cheap. I just tapped a switched 12v behind left trail lamp. There is a red wire with a white stripe that I am using for remote. I placed my amp in the storage area on the left so I can easily adjust settings.

[QUOTE=WretchedRefuse;30663107]I have a hard time going up to 3/4 volume and hearing any base roll off. Might be my ears. I just feel like accubass seems to distort the sound.

I installed everything, I'll try to get pictures tomorrow. Audiocontrol ACM 1.300 mounted in the left cubby and stealth box with JL audio 10w1v2 sub. Sounds okay, I am not sure Iade the right choice going with a W1 series. Maybe I should have gone with the W3 to get a hard hitting sub that can penetrate the cabin better?

So I have swapped the 10W1 for 10W3 and big improvement. I am curious if we should be setting our subwoofer amp LPF to 80hz or have it bypassed since the signal is a subwoofer signal from the B&W and should already be low frequency?

If using the technic harness, which grabs the signal from under seat subwoofers, do we still need to set our amp to LPF or bypass since it's already a subwoofer signal?

In some situations that could be beneficial but for subwoofers I would not stack crossovers. Since you're already installed you can just flip the switch and see what sounds better to you. I would guess that with the sub amp crossover disabled the new sub will more easily blend into the system.
I toyed with the idea of adding an additional subwoofer to the B&W system in my car, purchased all the parts and ultimately decided not to. I think to have it sound right you'd have to have control over the frequencies going to the 8s under the seat- essentially turn the 8s into midbass. Would require too much work to configure the DSP and dial it all in. Then at that point why bother doing the BW at all- price wise youre better served optioning the HK and ripping it all out and doing your own build. Adding the sub isn't the hard part, it's integrating it and having it all sound right that is. |

Same here. I found that with spirited driving the Velcro tape wouldn't hold the sub and it went flying around the boot. I resorted to some small L brackets screwed into the subwoofer box that then attach with trim clips to the side panel prevents it from moving.
