So I can't seem to get the "Launch Control Activated" words to come up in the cluster. Sport+ Mode, Gear Selector to the left in Sport Mode, not manual, DTC Activated, Brake pedal all the way to the floor, Engage the throttle all the way to the floor, wait for the indicator.

I get no indicator and the power seems to override the brakes as it's slipping and not holding the car at a standstill.

Any suggestions?

A few items to make sure of:

• Engine in sport+
• Transmission in sport
• TCS fully shutoff
• Engine is sufficiently to temp
• Hold brake to the floor
• Hold throttle to the floor

This should engage and not try to override the brakes. If all of that doesn't work, then not sure what's happening.

If the brakes aren't holding the car still, I expect that would prevent the car from activating Launch Control. "Brake pedal all the way to the floor" means you have to push it hard. Presumably your brakes also have to be healthy. Also I'm curious, are you running a stock trans tune?

Aside from pushing the brake harder, has Launch Control been used many times on the car? I believe that after a certain number of launches (~100?) it is automatically disabled.

I'm not too sure on how many times it's been launched. I just got it a month ago with 80,200 miles on it. It was bought stock or put back to stock when I bought it. No TCU tune. E30, JB4 on Map 2, and VRSF dp's. If it was launched past the deactivation threshold, can it be reset?

No, but you can however use xHP to compensate.

True, although for some reason only Stage 3 removes the limits on uses of Launch Control.

I find I can produce faster 0-60 times simply brake boosting. I wouldn't worry about the launch control programming non M cars , as you have to leave traction half way on to use it.

Good point. I get about the same results whether I use Launch Control or brake boosting with DSC completely off. My owners manual even says "An experienced driver may be able to achieve better acceleration values in DSC OFF mode."

All great info. I launched using via brake boosting. Nothing but smiles. I now have an issue with my EWG.
