Brake pad lifespan

My BMW 540i (2023) with M-sport brakes has less than 8k miles and it already has started to make whistling sounds as I brake, which I believe means that I need to change brake pads. Is it a typical lifespan for M-sport brake pads? Would it be covered by warranty if it is going out this early?

That sounds way too early. My 540 I sold after 29000 miles and that had plenty left on it

Obviously upon how it’s driven but that sounds extremely short. Sure it’s wear and not something else

Dealership should be able to address

they seem to squeal once it gets cold out. does that coincide with your experience by any chance?

Yes, it seems to short to be dependent on driving. I am sure I am not the only aggressive BMW driver here .

Yes! It started when the temperature dropped to 20s.

I drive my car like I stole it every single day and I’ve put 15k miles on my M550 with plenty of brake pad life left according to my recent service.

Must be something else… would be almost impossible to burn through those pads in 8k miles unless something is really off.
