I've just ordered my second G31, moving from 2018 to 2022, mainly to get Android Auto and use Waze or Google Maps rather than pay for RTTI and map updates. I also missed the HUD I had in my F31 so this one I'm getting has got it.

The dealer couldn't tell me what sort of integration to expect with the HUD - does one get any sat nav direction info on there from Android Auto integrations? Is it limited to any particular app? Also will one see Spotify track info on there?

Same questions for the gauge cluster screen too, if anyone knows please.

Looks like android auto integrates with the HUD for google maps and iPhones for Apple Maps
Any other variation is not the case
That’s my understanding but other will chip in and amend if necessary

No experience myself sorry only tried briefly with Apple Maps on a iPhone and preferred the bmw satnav and ultimately paying for TYTI and map updates once the first 3 years are up on the car

Preferred the look of the bmw set up along with maps displayed in the hud at complex junctions and ability to send destination to car from bmw app. Also have speed camera alerts in the HuD as well via bmw

I found battery drain noticeable when I tried Apple car play

I use Google Maps because the traffic info is really real time. It integrates very well with my car. It shows up on my iDrive and upcoming directions show up on both instrument panel & HUD

I have a 2022LCI with android wireless. The map doesn't display on your cluster, or heads up display like the oem map. It only shows turn signals with distance on both. It only shows the map on the info on the screen.
