Need help removing and re gelling rain sensor

Hi there, did anyone have any experience removing a rain sensor on G30 ? I got the plastic covers off made - 3 separate pieces (congrats to bmw for making things more complicated ) My previous bmw had the sensor mounted right under plastic cover. This one has the rear view mirror mount sitting on the actual sensor. I'm assuming the whole mirror assembly needs to come of but I can't figure it out where to begin. Any advise would be appreciated.
