Why? Unlike a phone, you're never going to drop this.

Interesting, I would only get this because the wife likes to poke things with her nails. Fake nails vs fineline wood trim = nails winning and trim having scuffs

I still don't see why you need to protect this screen.. Did you already scratched a screen with nails so far ??
It would be more useful to protect the windshield ^^

I've put cling film on the outside of my windscreen to stop the wipers marking the glass.

I'm looking for a way to avoid contact with the steering wheel as the leather might go shiney Any ideas?

Thanks for sharing, looks like a perfect fit. You can't even see it once installed.

Why do you all think this is such a dumb idea on a touch screen??? These screen protectors decrease glare, hide greasy finger smudges and also prevent micro scratches.

Because it's a car, the seats wear, the paint chips, the carpet gets dirty the steering wheel get shiney, the paint chips etc etc. I don't leave the plastic on the seats, and I remove any other shipping protection. You can't see any micro scratches when the screen is on which it is when you're in the car. Greasy finger smudges transfer to the protector or to the glass, both get dirty, both can be cleaned and I've not noticed any glare. Why wouldn't the car come with all these features if they are as great as you describe?.

Respect your views, but it's not for me, you did ask why I thought it dumb, so shared my views.
