Use the drive your deal thing as your opening gambit. Even if you don't get 25%, you are at least well over the 20% mark at the beginning. That and usual drop TRL a line to get a quote. At moment if 25 is on drive the deal, then 20 should be do able at a dealers. Edit. Apologies thought was still on the 25% discount thread lol. http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=986549 |

Hi all, new to the forum and have been lurking for a week or 2 so please be gentle with me
After 6 years with Audi I have decided after my recent A4 Avant debacle to look at a return to BMW. During the past 3 months I have been sorting out my wifes new VW Golf GTD purchase which she has taken delivery of recently and for which she is over the moon..............now its my turn and so during the past 4 weeks I have been researching the potential purchase of a M Sport X-Drive touring with a list of options, including -; • Adaptive M-Sport Suspension • Comfort Pack • Driver & Passenger Lumbar Support • Folding/Heated/Dimming Mirrors • Electric Trailer Hitch • Heated Front Seats • M-Sport Plus Pack (in conjunction with Visibility Pack) • Metallic Paint – (Colour TBC) • Visibility Pack • Windscreen Shade Band After a short debate I have now narrowed it down to a 330d or 335d although it appears the colour choice is going to be another story! I have been researching broker prices up and down the country and it appears that DTD are the ones to beat, although I am aware that most of the dealers DTD use are SE based which I do not particularly want to travel to to purchase from so with prices in hand I attended my nearest BMW dealer in Birmingham for a back to back test drive in a 330d XD M-Sport and a RWD 330d M-Sport and to ascertain if they were interested in my business. My test drive, although only an hour each I was distinctly aware of the differences of RWD v XD, in particular the weight. Overall quite impressed and willing to place an order, however when presented with a DTD price the dealer was not willing to meet the price or anything near it...So I left the dealer asked the salesman to mull over our conversation and asked him to call me if he wanted a sale. So going back to prices any of you guys want to share with me BMW dealers local to the west midlands who are competative and are willing to do a deal? or any advice on what price should be achievable at BMW franchised dealerships. Any advice is warmly welcome. |

Dealers will say they offer more service than an internet broker like cars to test drive etc so believe that's worth something over the Dtd price. That said with a bit of playing dealers off against each other and stating the Dtd price to the first one I got it pretty much the same so 20 odd percent off. Just be patient and work them hard!
I went for a heavily optioned 330d XDrive MSport and essentially got all the options free based on the out the box rrp for the bog standard car!!! |

Have you priced it elsewhere? Might be worth going to broadspeed or similar so you have working figures. They are showing a list price for a 335d xdrive m-sport touring vs their price at around 20% less and I am sure there is more to be had so what other has said around 25% must be achievable.

When I was buying my 335xd recently I also looked at the 330D, but discounts were of a higher % on the 335xd closing the price gap significantly. Combined with higher RV's the 330d didn't make financial sense.

Just shows how market discounts change, it's always worth looking at all models, as discounts are never the same across the series.

If you wanted the 3litre d in Sdrive format, then you are forced to take the 330d (and PPK it if you want more oomph) or if you want xdrive then the 335d was the logical choice as the 330xd didn't seem to make sense as it was not a great deal cheaper than the 335xd from earlier post on the subject (#75) (note for comparison, these prices were post discounting Feb 14) http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=942253 a look at the price differences are (roughly) 330xd is £1346 more expensive than the 330sd the 335xd is £1534 more expensive than the 330xd the 335xd is £2880 more expensive than the 330sd the 330sd PPK is ~£1200? so the 335xd is ~£1680 more expensive than the 330sd PPK there would be no real point in PPK a 330xd as you would be as well buying a 335xd in the first place the only real reason you would want to PPK a 330sd is if you wanted power getting towards the 335XD, but in a RWD platform. The mod factor pf the PPK would probably put me off |

Was really disappointed with broadspeed, got passed to one of their guts who turned out to be a different broker with his own car broker business who then wanted over 1k for his commission (which he subsequently halved later due to error on his part), he then gave a part ex price which was was then dropped by £1500 just prior to me agreeing the deal. He then knocked £500 off his fees but went onto say that the £199 broad speed fee still applied as well as his own reduced fee.
Left with no confidence in broad speed and by that time TRL had returned from his holiday and had returned my original mail to him. Process was very straightforward, efficient and professional. I've got my car from TRL would recommend Tony without question, save yourself the time and effort elsewhere. It was a long drive but worth the inconvenience. The problem in the Midlands is that Sytner and Rybrook have a monopoly on the BMW franchise so in order to obtain additional new car quotes it is a requirement to look further a field, which I do not mind when there is £thousands to be saved but in my opinion it makes it easier to deal with any issues that may arise if the selling dealer is local. Just my way of thinking at the moment, although is RFL and servicing more expensive on 335d as my insurance quotes are indicating higher premiums than that for a 330d. |

Found similar with the 335d. Insurance was between £50-100 more. Also I was quoted a 3k difference between that and the same spec 330d which I went with.
With the massively overcrowded roads in the south I'll rarely get to use the 330d performance let alone a 335!! And on the chance I could theres the PPK which is less than 1k as I already will have the msport brakes so it still would make the 335 2k more. Funny you should mention Sytner as they were the ones who came up with the best price, almost the DTD price. Went to another dealer first, got their best price then got in touch with 3 others, Sytner included. The 2 other dealers wouldn't even attempt to get close and quote!! And the team there were much better than the first dealer. Edit to add that I came from an E92 330d, which seemed to be the pick of performance vs mpg etc and a chip could give it almost identical performance to a stock 335 with better fuel consumption. The 335 of its type noticeably worse on mpg, and part of my decision was didn't want to chance the same in the F range - despite what BMW mpg claims are!! TRL is a member on here who is Sales Manager in a large BMW dealership. He is a straight no nonsense guy, will give you his best price first off, no silly talk from some spiky haired shiny suited child who claims to be your best friend and will fight your case with his faceless manager who can't lower himself to ever speak to a customer. All that rubbish goes out the window with a proper dealer who realises all potential customers are not mugs.
PM TRL for a quote on whatever car you fancy. Several people on here have bought from his dealership and been very happy. |

I have PM'd TRL and await his reply. I have heard from another post on the forum that DTD have pulled BMW cars from their sales listings today....possibly BMW intervention? My attempts to draw my local BMW dealers into a bidding war to supply my proposed BMW 330d/335d appears to have died a death....again as a forum member pointed out has the new car sales market picked up to such an extent that realising big discounts are a bygone?.....just my luck!! |

Don't be put off by the distance to TRL dealership. Pick my 335d up on Tuesday from them and like you live in the midlands. The way I look at it got a price I am very happy with and the whole process, so far, has been great. Sytner Nottm were a waste of time, as usual, With the discount taking the wife to London 1st class Monday morning, nice hotel in the capital, night out, train from Charing Cross to dealership Tuesday, picked up from station, drive home. New car day should be exciting, in my opinion, so the distance and location is a + for me and will be first port of call in 12 months when my wife's car is changed. |

We share the same sentiments re- Sytner their best quote is £2K short of DTD What made you choose the 335 over the 330? Saloon or Touring? And what was your lead time? Hope you have a fantastic time in London and all goes well with your new 335d collection......certainly a day to remember |
