Factory fill oil?

Hi all
I'm going to do an oil change on my 540i (xdrive UK)

Does any body know what oil it will have in it from the factory? as I would ideally like to replace with the same stuff.

I could obviously go to the dealer to get the oil but I don't really want to pay through the nose just because it comes in a BMW bottle.

I am aware that anything with the LL04 spec will be ok, but would be nice to replace like for like. The Shell lube match recommends a 5/30, Castrol does not list the G30 but recommends either an EDGE 0/30 or EDGE professional 0/30 for other vehicles with the B58 engine.

Also I would normally just suck the oil out from the dipstick hole but I assume this is not an option on the B58 engine, are there any shortcuts or do I need to get underneath?

thanks

Don't you get free maintenance as we do in Canada?

We get 3 years FREE maintenance in the US.
But to answer your question there is always a oil drain plug underneath the car. Never heard of using dipstick hole for oil drain.

But don't you have to get underneath for the filter. Anyway I checked out and it's still a cool idea b

Sorry, I've been using it with my current car that has the filter accessible from above (2016 GTI). Where is the M550i's filter located? Hoping to get delivery in December.

The BMW Genius app say you should use either 0W-20 or 0W-30. I would assume any full synthetic oil with that viscosity. I use Castrol or Mobil 1 with my benz.

Or you could try this as it meats BMW Longlife-01 FE standard:
