Here is an xdrive used proper. Love this.

Why is that proper? He just went in uncontrolled circles? Car gets you from a to b right?
That is me btw. Haha. But that was actually very controlled. You'd be totally shocked how you can "force" these cars to do what you want. In moderation of course.

Are UK magazines ignoring M550i test drives because it won't be sold there?

French reviews gave the car a big thumbs up . Main negative points were the winter tires / testing conditions and the price.... so all good realy

I don't see how a car with that much power and tractability can't induce an evil grin on anyone. Very bizarre. I'm considering trading my 997TT for one. It maybe one of the most regretful decisions I ever make, the car is a total cream puff carrera white on carrera red with sport buckets, but we've got a second baby on the way an M3 won't cut it for size/needs.

The answer is yes because the test drives organised by BMW were for the 3 Series LCI: 440i and 430i cabrio and the 5 series M550i xDrive and 530e iPerformance.

In breaking news, a car on snow tires doesn't handle as well as a car on Super Sports. Story at 11...

New member, new car: M550i for end-June!

Hello everyone from rainy central Europe!

I'm very happy to be back in the BMW clan and have just signed up for a new M550i xDrive.

After many years driving small sports cars/bikes (coming from a Porsche Cayman 'R' and Honda CBR600RR), I'm going for something a little more sedate(?), to reflect my advancing years and greater maturity

Will post photos and a review once I get the car. I'm quite excited about my "Sophisto-grey" paintwork, it does look something special and quite rare apparently.

Proud to be now part of the Bimmerpost family and have very much enjoyed reading the comments and reviews from everyone here so far.

Best Wishes,

R

has anyone figured out if there is a difference between the 2017 and 2018 models? or did BMW just decide to jack up the base price and force that worthless "premium" package down our throats just to milk their sales a little more?

on the 2017 models, premium package had wireless charging, the fancy headlights and wasn't required for m sport or luxury seating. for 2018, premium is just an assortment of trash (power lift gate and gesture control) and it's a prerequisite for pretty much everything. it's really annoying.

It looks like an options shuffle mostly. The only real change is the availability of the full digital dash in the Executive Tier, which fixes that weird half digital/half analog setup.
