Annoyed (must vent)

My car is two months old Wednesday (bought new although it was on the lot since March I think) and already I've had constant TPM failures and lately I'm having a lot of comfort access issues, where the car doesn't recognize the key and lock or unlock, and once it didn't want to start. I've used both fobs, same results, put a new battery in the fob and that hasn't helped either. And the sat radio went wonky last night and I had to reboot the iDrive to get that working.

This is something like my 20th BMW, half of them bought new, so none of this crap is new to me, but man oh man it gets annoying. It took me several months and numerous visits to get my new M2 sorted, now it looks like I'm going to be driving loaners again...

It's scheduled to go in next Monday, hopefully the failures will fail while they have it and I can get this nonsense resolved.

Take heart. At least you have a forum to vent. I hope they give you a loaner equivalent to your car

It doesn't sound good. Was your car built during the world cup finals? My 530e is now 22 months old and loaded to the gills and I don't have any of these problems.

I think I would be proactively exploring the lemon laws in your state. This is not normal.

I recently had some TPM issues.

Suddenly, it kept saying the tire pressure was low. I filled the tires to make sure they were correct.

I don't recall the exact sequence, but somehow it was set to Performance Tires instead of All Seasons. Don't know how this happened.

Anyway, once I set it back to All Seasons in iDrive, everything was fine. That fixed the problem.

Thanks for the replies. I'm nowhere near lemon law yet (in my state that requires the car to be out of service for more than 21 days, problem not fixed, etc.) which I've been through before with other cars.

And the TPMS issue is not a pressure warning, it's a total and complete failure of the system with flashing lights and pop-up messages on the iDrive.

Yes, I will get a loaner, not a 5 series, but a newish BMW and I'm sure after 3 or 4 visits it will all be good.

I was having lots of electronic problems on my 2017 540. Replaced head unit and all is good now.

These cars are a real love/hate thing with me (and I'm sure, many of us). I traded my F01 750i in on this thing because the 7 was running out of warranty. I hesitate to own one out of warranty, and I don't trust aftermarket warranties. A lot of them won't cover things like the iDrive and all of those ancillary electronic doo-dads that fail so often on our cars. Which is also why I avoid as many of these driver aids as I can.

Unfortunately, I don't think Audi or Mercedes is any better, they're more expensive, and they don't drive as well as BMW.

Yeah on the road. About 6k miles since 6/1. I'll stick with her for now. I couldn't afford the nonsense after warranty is up. Might just have to buy another. Or get a beater. Here are today's events.

My TPM system failed after driving in to work on the spare tire. Was driving down the highway and then it just alarmed and stopped working. Didn't work after restarting the car. It'll be in the dealer for new tires in the morning so it should get worked out.

I don't have the front radar system but it's basically a wire if you have it lol. Anything to charge for any extra movement. Lol

Update for those following along at home:

Brought the car in last Monday, got it back yesterday. That's 9 actual days, or 7 business days that they had the car.

Later yesterday, the comfort access wasn't working.

This morning driving in, the TPMS failed again.

I should have bought a Lexus.
